Jiangjiakou Reservoir is one of the 172 major water conservancy projects that the State Council has determined to accelerate the promotion of, and construction began in October last year, and the excavation of the No. 1 and No. 2 construction branch holes has been completed.

The Xiangjiaba Irrigation District Project is an important part of the "five horizontal and six vertical" water diversion and water replenishment ecological water network in Sichuan Province, with a planned irrigation area of 5.3 million mu, which can solve the water problem of 143 towns and more than 4 million rural people in the irrigation area after completion.
