This year, the National Academy of Engineering announced a total of 111 new members and 22 new overseas members, and among the 22 elected overseas academicians, Dr. Zhang Hongjiang, chairman of the Beijing Zhiyuan Research Institute, was among them.

Founded in 1964, the National Academy of Engineering is a non-profit, non-governmental organization affiliated with the National Academy of Sciences (NAS). NAE is responsible for carrying out the engineering projects needed by the country, oriented by education and research, recognizing and affirming the value and achievements of engineers. Up to now, the total number of national engineering in the United States has reached 2388, and the number of overseas academicians has reached 310.
