The mist on the river surface is thick, the mountains on both sides of the river are stacked, the towering trees are towering into the clouds, and the beauty of the river view is intoxicating, but the officers and men have no time to take care of the beautiful scenery in front of them, they need to speed up, complete the patrol of the boundary river for more than 50 kilometers before dark, and then return to the camp before the sun goes down.

Mountain forest vegetation grows very fast, if not cleaned, patrol roads will be engulfed by weeds for ten and a half days, so every time you patrol, cleaning up the weeds on the road has become an unwritten rule for officers and soldiers.
"These are actually nothing, the most headache is that the boat is traveling in a strong wind and rain or touching the shoal." Ye Qing introduced that if there is a sudden strong wind and heavy rain, the patrol boat must find a safe haven and strengthen the anchor rope to prevent accidents. Sometimes, when the wind blows for two or three days, the officers and men can only rely on the war food they carry in the temporary shelter. Eating is good to solve, but sleeping at night is a troublesome thing, everyone lies in the cabin, the boat swings with the wind, the rain outside the window sounds, even the older soldiers are difficult to sleep, and some recruits even have symptoms of seasickness. Everyone joked: "Officers and soldiers slept in the cradle, and the wind and rain sang lullabies."

The experience of cruising has created the vigorous fighting spirit and tenacious and indomitable character of officers and men like tigers in the mountains and forests.
