Chongqing experts have found that excessive use of glucocorticoids may lead to a resurgence of hepatitis

On the 10th, the upstream news reporter learned from the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University that recently, the team of Professor Yang Peizeng of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University published the latest original research paper in annalsof the Rheumatic Diseases, the journal that ranked first in the field of rheumatology in the world. In this study, Professor Yang Peizeng's team found that the average daily dose of glucocorticoids is closely related to the risk of hepatitis B virus reactivation and hepatitis relapse. This finding provides a scientific basis for determining the therapeutic strategies and doses of glucocorticoids in patients infected with hepatitis virus.

It is reported that the study conducted a prospective study of 1303 patients with uveitis treated with glucocorticoids for a long time, follow-up time of up to 16 months, found that the average daily dose of glucocorticoids greater than 20 mg may lead to the reactivation of the original hepatitis B virus or the re-ignition of hepatitis, pointing out that for people with hepatitis B virus infection in the use of glucocorticoids for long-term treatment, the dose should be controlled within 20 mg / day, if a larger dose should be used at the same time as the use of preventive antiviral therapy, to avoid hepatitis B virus reactivation or hepatitis recurrence.
