When the Beijing Winter Olympics were underway, the athletes were happy to mention one "golden pier" after another. When "a pier is difficult to find", it is not only enviable, but also makes the people of the world proud of them.
In order to freeze the excitement of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, Wei Yining, a volunteer of the main media center, decided to create his own "Golden Pier", leaving behind the "top stream" memorial of the City of the Two Olympic Games.

The "golden pier" looks beautiful, but it is not so easy to do. In Wei Yining's view, the most difficult thing about making a "golden pier" is that there is no physical reference, and the clearest thing that can be found on the Internet is a frontal map, which needs to be restored to a body shape according to a floor plan. "Although no one has done it, I decided to try it, after all, this 'golden pier' is very different from the 'ice pier' I usually see."
As the saying goes, "everything is difficult at the beginning", Wei Yining used ultra-light clay as the main material in the production. Although this material is lightweight, it is soft in texture before drying, which is difficult to fix, which brings a lot of interference to the creation. Wei Yining made a simple skeleton out of wire, and then fixed the clay on it, which gave birth to the prototype of the "golden pier". After this step was completed, Wei Yining brushed the golden ink again, and it took about 7 hours before and after.
"The first time I saw the 'Golden Pier' was at the award ceremony after winning the gold medal in the short track speed skating relay. Seeing the mainland athletes each with a 'golden pier', I am particularly happy and proud of them. Recalling the game in which the Chinese team won the first gold, Wei Yining was full of pride.
At present, Wei Yining's own creation of "Jindundun" is displayed at the volunteer home of the main media center of the Beijing Winter Olympics, and many volunteers are competing to watch and take group photos.
"Life can have a few beats!" We reproduce the 'Golden Pier' in the hope of commemorating the achievements of the Olympic athletes in this unique way and achieving resonance with the Olympic spirit. Wei Yining said.
