Rakosevic was named CBA Third Defensive Player of the Month

BEIJING, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- CBA officials announced on February 9 that Nikola Rakocevic, a foreign player who plays for the Zhejiang CHOU Golden Rent Men's Basketball Team, was elected Caterpillar's Defensive Player of the Month in the third period (round of 19-28) of the 2021-2022 CBA League.

Born in Chicago, USA, Rakosevic represented Serbia's U20 at the 2017 U20 European Championships. In 2020, after graduating from the University of Southern California, Rakosevic officially joined the Zhejiang men's basketball team in the CBA League and made his debut as a professional player.

In the two seasons of playing in the CBA League, Rakosevic used his own characteristics and advantages to help the Zhejiang men's basketball team continue to achieve better results, on the other hand, he also continued to refine himself with the help of competition. During the judging period (rounds 19-28), Rakosevic averaged 2.4 blocks per game, averaging 8.2 defensive rebounds and 2.2 steals per game, and the data such as defensive rebounding rate, block rate and steal rate were also remarkable.
