15 inch OLED screen iPad? Domestic and Korean suppliers are actively preparing

According to the latest news in the supply chain, Apple is actively preparing a 15-inch iPad, they hope to bring users a larger screen experience of mobile devices, and it is said that to use OLED screens, LG and BOE are actively preparing.

LG is said to be reconfiguring an OLED production line to meet Apple's needs, a development that could be aimed at making oled iPads. As apple's supplier, LG Display is said to be moving some OLED-related manufacturing equipment and tools from the E5 production line at its plant in Gumi, South Korea, to another in Paju.

Before that, BOE had also revamped a factory to produce larger OLED displays for devices other than smartphones, including tablets and computers.

After BOE became a supplier of iPhone 13 displays last year, it is likely to aim to provide OLED displays for future iPads. The repurposed factory will be able to produce displays up to 15 inches and will have the ability to make OLED displays with two red, green, and blue emission layers, which will give the future iPad a noticeably brighter display.

Currently, Apple buys OLED displays for the iPhone from Samsung and LG, but it often tries to diversify its supply chain to reduce the risk of relying on a single supplier and ensure competitive prices.

While the OLED iPad display may be tempting for potential users, it may not yet become a reality. In October, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that Apple would continue to use TFT-LCD technology in the iPad in 2022, in part because the advent of the OLED iPad Air could be detrimental to the sales of the Mini-LED 11-inch iPad Pro.
