Peloton announced the departure of CEO: Netflix's former CFO succeeded him, planning to lay off 2,800 employees

On February 8, Peloton, an interactive fitness platform in the United States, reportedly announced today that CEO John Foley will leave the company and be replaced by Barry McCarthy.

McCarthy served as Spotify and Netflix's first Financial Officer (CFO), and in addition to succeeding Foley as CEO, he will also serve as President of Peloton and join the company's board of directors. Currently, McCarthy is also a member of the board of directors of Instacart, a U.S. grocery delivery service.

In addition, Peloton announced today that it plans to lay off 2,800 employees, or about 20 percent of the company's workforce.
