The "fastest ice" | the Winter Olympics is well known

The magical "ice ribbon" once again witnessed the birth of a new Olympic record.

On the afternoon of February 7, in the women's 1500m speed skating competition at the National Speed Skating Hall "Ice Ribbon", The Netherlands' Irene West won the gold medal with a time of 1:53.28 and broke the Olympic record. This is also the third time in the three days since the opening of the race that the National Speed Skating Hall has produced a new Olympic record.

Earlier, on the afternoon of February 6, in the men's 5,000-meter final of speed skating at the Beijing Winter Olympics, Dutch player Patrick Roist skated 6:09.31, breaking the Olympic record. In the first Beijing Winter Olympics speed skating women's 3,000m final on February 5, Dutch player Schottten broke the 20-year Olympic record.

"Speed skating venues must provide the best conditions for athletes to perform, and we make 'fastest ice' the most important goal." Li Jiulin, head of the National Speed Skating Hall Smart Stadium Construction and Application Key Technology Research and Demonstration Application Project, said.

There are many factors that affect the "fastest ice", one of the most important factors is the quality and temperature difference of the ice surface. Li Jiulin said that the team focused on the "fastest ice" and green and low-carbon goals, and with the support of key research and development plans, innovated the carbon dioxide transcritical direct cooling ice system, which not only reduced the energy-saving and environmental protection GWP value (global warming potential) from nearly 4,000 to 1 at the beginning, but also controlled the ice temperature.
