China NIO ushered in another strong sales month in January 2022, with a total of 9,652 vehicles delivered to new owners last month, according to NIO.
This figure is up 33.6% compared to January 2021 and more than 600% compared to the same period in 2020.
The largest share by model is the ES6, a five-seat electric SUV with 5,247 units sold, followed by the EC6 and ES8 with 2,874 and 1,531 units, respectively.
Since its inception, NIO has delivered 176,722 vehicles, and NIO has provided the latest information about its power, sales and service network. As of January 31, 2022, NIO has built 836 substations, 3,766 charging piles, and 3,656 destination charging piles nationwide, and has opened 42 NIO Houses, 341 NIO Space, 55 NIO service centers, and 180 authorized service centers nationwide. In addition, NIO recently released its first software update specifically for car owners outside of China: Aspen 3.0.5 NO was developed specifically for Norway and is based on the NIO technology platform 1.0 (NT1.0).
In addition, WEIO recently shared an image of the prototype of the ET5 sedan off the production line in Hefei.
NIO plans to launch the ET5 domestically this fall and is likely to include the car in a broader global release.
The ET5, NIO's second sedan, was officially released in December 2021 and began accepting orders from domestic users in January. The ET5 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, and its estimated range on a standard 75 kWh battery also reaches 550 km+.
At the same time, the long-range 100 kWh battery has a range of 700 km. Finally, the ultra-long-range 150 kWh battery provides the ET5 with a range of 1000 km.
The latest update to ET5 includes information about NIO's expansion into Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands in Europe. However, NIO has not confirmed which models will be sold to the Nordic countries. Many doubted that NIO would include at least one of their SUVs and ET5 as part of the release, but as of this writing, NIO remained tight-lipped about its expansion plans.
