FA: The United Kingdom and Ireland jointly bid for Euro 2028, abandoning their bid for the 2030 World Cup

According to the official website of the FA, the Fa Associations of England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland have conducted extensive feasibility studies and finally decided to abandon their bid for the 2030 World Cup and apply for Euro 2028 instead.

The feasibility study includes an analysis of the economic impact, the political landscape and the cost of hosting the event. After the analysis, the five football associations decided to only apply to host Euro 2028, which can bring similar revenue to hosting the World Cup, and the cost of hosting the European Cup is lower and the recovery time of funds is shorter.
