Game opening screen
Japanese Version Name: Firebird Phoenix Edition Adventure of our King
Roman: Hi No Tori - Houou Hen - Gaou No Bouken
Chinese name: Bird of Fire - Phoenix ed. - The Adventure of My King
Model: FC
Development and release: Konami
Release date: January 4, 1987
Type: ACT
The game is based on the 1986 Japanese animated film Fire の鳥鳳 Phoenix Compilation (Osamu Tezuka Original). However, the game has a shallow relationship with the "Fire の鳥" manga, and the game manual says that the game plot is only imported from the original setting.
The first FC game released in 1987, it is a side-view side-view side-screen scrolling action game. The protagonist is "My King", and the ghost tile is a special skill of my king, and it is also a systematic feature of this game.
The music in charge of this game is "Yamashita Tsuyoshi", and the ending song uses the beautiful and elegant melody from the anime theme song "Fire の鳥" sung by "Noriko Watanabe". Originally did not intend to make this raider material, but was really infected by the ending song, this ending song is really too beautiful, too touching.
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" > the game's story setting</h1>
Long ago, thieves named "My King" used to kill innocent people and rob them of money and treasures. Until one day, because of a very small misunderstanding, my king killed his most beloved wife, and at the end of his distress, my king began the life of a wandering monk who made ghost tiles. At that time, the emperor had people post a notice "Looking for someone who is good at carving birds of fire", and my king was selected to inject the soul to carve successfully, but he did not know who stole it and divided it into 16 fragments. My king had to embark on a journey to retrieve the firebird carvings one by one.
The goal of this work is to break all 16 levels, collect all 16 firebird carving fragments, and complete the firebird diagram. You need to defeat the boss of each level to get the sculpted fragments, some levels do not have a boss, but there are mechanism settings, the protagonist needs to dodge the rolling stone and Maki, and get the firebird carving map to break the level before the terrain is completely destroyed. There are also individual levels where you can break the engraving fragment by simply breaking the corresponding wall.

Ghost tiles paving the way and building bridges
Looking at the screenshot above, time and SCORE in the upper right corner are time limit and score respectively. In the upper left corner is the protagonist's LIFE, commonly known as the HP slot, which takes the form of a number of hearts, and every time an enemy or enemy projectile fires, the number of centroids is reduced by one. When the number of hearts is 0, the protagonist hangs his life. The protagonist accidentally falls into a ditch, or dies when the remaining time is 0, and the result is, of course, hanging on to his life. Sometimes, the protagonist cannot pave the way because the current ghost wattage is 0, and the only option is to press the SELECT key to commit suicide. When the protagonist has 0 remaining lives, the GAME OVER game ends. After the game, you can select CONTINUE with the SELECT key to continue the level.
The protagonist's weapon is a chisel for carving, and pressing the B key can be projected straight forward. Press the B key while holding it in the direction to make it fly straight up. However, unlike general shooters, chisels fly not infinite distances, but finite short distances. Projecting chisels can not only attack enemies, but also open treasure chests, or destroy barricades and ghost tiles. Note that when the protagonist crouches down, he cannot project a chisel (presumably to allow the protagonist to use the ghost tile), so when encountering some small enemy soldiers, the protagonist cannot form an effective attack, and the treasure chest that is on the same plane as the protagonist cannot be opened.
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" > ghost tile</h1>
The number of ghost tiles that my king currently holds is displayed in the upper center left position of the screen, and there is an equal sign after the ghost tile icon, and the number after the equal sign is the number of ghost tiles currently owned.
Some levels have ditches that are too wide, or too high, and must rely on ghost tiles to pave the way. Ghost tiles can be placed in the air, becoming a stepping stone for the protagonist, making full use of the function of ghost tiles, blocking enemies head-on, paving roads to bypass enemies from high places... The operation method is very simple, FC handle {↓B}, the way to jump into the air to place the ghost tile is FC handle {A+↓B}.
Turning into a gray ghost tile, the protagonist can break it with a chisel, or the protagonist can squat on the ghost tile and jump three times to smash the ghost tile. My king can squat down and jump three times, not only to smash the ghost tiles, but also to break the specific barricades in the level. Players must master the crouch three-jump skill or they will not be able to complete the level.
When my king's fly chisel hits an enemy, the enemy will turn into a ghost tile, and when it is found, the number of ghost tiles currently stored by my king will increase by 1. If the boss of a certain level has been defeated by my king once before, and my king has taken the firebird carving fragment, then after defeating the boss again, the boss will become a ghost tile. Sometimes when I pick up the Ghost Tile icon, the number of Ghost Tiles currently stored by my King suddenly increases by 10, such as the Ghost Tiles from some treasure chests. The maximum number of ghost tiles that my king currently stores is 99.
< h1 class= "pgc-h-arrow-right" > level</h1>
The active stage of my king has traveled through time and space, which is really enviable. Yamato 8 levels, Afterlife 5 levels, and Swire 3 levels, a total of three eras. If you go from one era to another, you must find the hidden teleportation hole from the level, and after finding the hole, the player presses the FC controller direction to let the king enter the cave. If you can't find the teleportation hole, then my king can only fight in a loop of levels of the same era. Breaking some barricades may expose the portal opening, push a specific wall or statue, and may also have a teleportation opening. There are many clearance routes, players can choose freely, like to study the rapid clearance of players need to arrange a good plan.
In addition, yamato will return to the first level from the 1st level to the 7th level, the 1st to 7th level is a circular body, the 8th level is a hidden level, and there is only one hidden teleportation hole throughout the game that leads to the 8th level of Yamato, which must be found or not passed.
16 levels are all broken, after the clearance, there will be an ending picture and a beautiful ending song, next, there will be 2 weeks, 3 weeks... Like FC Contra, FC Castlevania Dracula, FC Saraman Snake, FC Red Fortress, the cycle goes on indefinitely. Oh, all born to a mother, the Konami Company in Japan. After 2 weeks, the enemy's movement speed has become faster and the difficulty has increased.
The following is a list of the official names of Daiwa 1 to 7 levels.
Yamato Stage 1 "Coast".
Yamato Stage 2 "Yau".
Yamato Stage 3 "Iwaba".
Yamato Stage 4 "Mori".
Yamato Stage 5 "Temple".
Yamato Stage 6 "Cliff".
Yamato Stage 7 "Cave".
< h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" > list of items</h1>
Generally speaking, items are punched out of treasure chests, and sometimes, knocking down an enemy will also drop an item with a low probability, although in general, enemies always drop ghost tiles. Even sometimes, after the enemy drops the ghost tile, my king's flying chisel hits the ghost tile, and the ghost tile turns into some kind of item.
List of items
< h1 class= "pgc-h-arrow-right" > list of miscellaneous soldiers</h1>
The attack power of the enemy soldiers in this game is exactly the same, and every time my king is injured, he only has one less heart. Exactly the same HP setting as FC Trio boy.
The miscellaneous soldiers each have 100 points and generally drop ghost tiles. The miscellaneous soldiers of different eras are different. But there are also a few miscellaneous soldiers who are very active, and my king will encounter them in three different eras.

< h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" > a list of bosses</h1>
The boss attack power of this game is exactly the same, and every time my king is injured, he only has one heart. Exactly the same HP setting as FC Trio boy.
The boss always waits for the protagonist at the end of the level, and after my king defeats the boss, the boss obediently turns in the firebird carving fragment. The BOSS's HP is all the same, and it can withstand the 16 fly chisel of my king. Every time my king's fly chisel hits the boss, it gets 100 points. If my king has 16 consecutive fly chisels, chisels hit the boss, just like Xiao Li flying knife, then the system rewards 5000 points, a total of 6500 points can be obtained.
Some boss skills can release all kinds of flying objects or other moving objects like ordinary miscellaneous soldiers, and when hit by my king's flying chisel, they can become ghost tiles. For each knock down, you get 100 points.

<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" > special organ</h1>
There are some specific levels where there is no boss at the end of the level. At the top or right of the picture, rolling stones and woods fly out infinitely, causing great damage to the terrain, and our king must quickly break forward before the ground is completely fragmented, and get the firebird carving in front of him. When a Rolling Stone encounters unbreakable terrain, it immediately turns into a ghost tile. My King's flying chisel can also hit the rolling stone maki, turning it into a ghost tile, and get 100 points.
Daichi 2 is very special, there is no boss, there is no mechanism, just a stone prison-like room, the room is divided into several parts by stones, there are miscellaneous soldiers wandering inside, and the firebird carving fragment is also in it.

<h1 class= "pgc-h-arrow-right" > a life-and-death concern</h1>
Route Study: Because there are too many people on the earth in the Yamato and afterlife, and there are few resources, in order to prepare a large number of ghost tiles as combat equipment, our king had to take the resource-rich and untapped Taikoo as the first target.
Order of attack: Yamato 1-> Afterlife 1-> Taikoo 2-> Taikoo 3-> Taikoo 1-> Taikoo 2-> Taikoo 3-> and 8-> Daiwa 1-7-> Daiwa 1-> 1-> 1-5
Taikoo 2, a stone wall in front of the boss battle was broken, there was a grip on rice, as soon as he saw the bone dragon, he immediately ran to the bottom of the dragon head and attacked the dragon head above.
Taikoo 3 has a section of way to walk from the ceiling to the entrance to Yamato 8, pay attention to slowly jump from above and jump down, do not rush forward, otherwise it will lead to a large number of pink dinosaurs, very difficult, will hurt a lot of LIFE value.
Yamato 8 is probably one of the most eye-hurt levels in history, shaking and shaking. In the last section of the road where the fish jumps out, you should move forward quickly, and jump fast when you encounter a big ditch, so as not to be consumed by the fish. Yamato 8 this type of final scene, as long as the chisel is fired upwards, there will be no tragedy of falling stones falling from the top of the protagonist's head and destroying the ground to make the main corner cave die, but it is not possible to stay for a long time, it is best to ignore the falling stones above, and keep laying ghost tiles to rush to the upper right corner of the firebird carving fragment.
The swire 1 final scene is handled in the same way as Yamato 8.
Yamato 1's boss can just fire bullets upwards to attack the boss.
Yamato 3 boss, after the lead out, backwards, boss roll attack because the rolling speed is slow, can not catch up with the protagonist, the protagonist can stand on the left side of the boss with a bullet bombardment.
The Boss of Yamato 4, with ghost tiles laid on the ground, jumped up close to the suspended boss in the air, and fired all the way up.
Yamato 5's initial chest falling from the sky should be noted in the shooting point, and it is important to eat the grip in one of the treasure chests, which is important because the enemy is difficult to hold and the grip is difficult to find. The last section of the road, the upper layer of a lot of Buddha statues, the lower layer is empty, it is recommended to go below, the top is dangerous, if there are too many bald thieves who appear at one time, it will cause the screen to slow down because of the FC function, the protagonist becomes difficult to operate, falls into a miserable situation, and it is easy to hang. Boss battle, Ban Ruo, first seal the bottom with ghost tiles, and then jump to the top to find an opportunity to fight miscellaneous fish, wait for the miscellaneous fish to become ghost tiles to cover two layers, lay ghost tiles from above to break through, and lay ghost tiles in the air in an instant when falling, until it is close to the boss's forehead and bombarded with bullets. The fastest and most convenient way is to break through the building materials near the right side of the boss's chin, lay the ghost tile and jump up, run to the bottom of the boss's chin and blast at the boss above.
Yamato 6 this level be careful of the broken bridge on the road, do not fall into the ditch before giving up. Boss battles, walking back and forth on the ground, followed by wandering bosses, and attack upwards.
Yamato 7, it is safe to advance from the roof, there are fish jumping out of the road, to move fast, do not be consumed by the fish too much LIFE value. Boss battle, go to the right side to stick to the wall cushion a ghost tile jump up and attack the boss above.
Afterlife 1 is best to advance forward from above, especially in the last scene, it is safest to break through from the top, and it is easy to get a firebird carving fragment.
Afterlife 2 be careful that LIFE is not too damaged. The final scene is handled in the same way as Yamato 8.
The boss tactics of Afterlife 3 are the same as those of Yamato 7.
Afterlife 4 is safer to advance from the top, note that the last stretch of road is always a rocket, not to stay long, and to move forward quickly (this is a lesson learned from a one-life clearance challenge). The final scene progresses from the top three layers little by little until you get a fragment of the firebird carving.
One of the 3 chests in the afterlife 5 begins with holding rice (this is a lesson learned from a one-life pass challenge). In front of the BOSS scene, there is a chest with a grip on rice, and the boss battle is the same as yamato 4. After breaking the boss, you can see Konami's logo pattern as shown in the screenshot below.
I thought that the afterlife was the simplest, and I challenged it a few times to know the strength, if the protagonist did not hurry forward, the deadly rocket was endless. There are also black ball meteorites that fall from the upper right corner, which are also annoying. More annoying is the purple mechanical bee, if the protagonist does not hurry forward, the mechanical bee is more and more, although the flight speed is slow, but because the sine curve amplitude of the flight is larger, the more mechanical bees, the smaller the activity space of the protagonist. It is for these reasons that a one-life pass challenge failed, the afterlife 5 is the last level of the route I formulated, but it overturned in this last pass of the gutter, the reason is that the afterlife 4 I suffered a big loss in the rocket, only 1 block OF LIFE value was left to enter the afterlife 5, and the second reason was that the position of the next life 5 was unfamiliar to me and missed the good opportunity to restore the LIFE value.
Yamato's fish are also endless, because this I suffered several losses at Yamato 7, so I had to build a save there to practice repeatedly, studying the route and tactics of high winning percentage.
Probably because there is health and can pave the way with ghost tiles and is not afraid of enemy spikes, the fluency of this game is simply... It is possible to hang it up only if the mistake of laying the ghost tile is not small and falling into the ditch. So, to be honest, the one-life pass challenge of this game, I was a light enemy before, and I thought that it would not take long to get it easily. I didn't expect to learn a lot of details that I hadn't noticed before every time I failed.
When I was playing on the FC console, only the last firebird carving fragment was left to get, and later reviewed on the emulator, still can't get it. Ask the old driver to understand that crouching down and jumping up can smash through the terrain under your feet, and the ice cave of Taikoo 3 can finally enter, so that I finally entered the hidden Yamato 8 and got the last firebird carving fragment.
