The "Pacesetter" volunteers are the people who guide the athletes to enter the stadium, create an atmosphere and cooperate with related performances, and are also the longest performers in the opening ceremony. A total of 145 students from Tsinghua University became "pacesetters", and on-campus training began on October 3, 2021.

"At the beginning, I was training in the school, practicing one action after another, and one set of movements was about 5 minutes down, and I felt very tired after 5 minutes of jumping!" Huang Hao told reporters that after a month of movement training and physical exercise, they began to train at the bird's nest in November last year, and slowly began to jump for an hour. By the last rehearsal on February 2 this year, they had trained a total of 35 times. The cumulative jump time in previous trainings has exceeded 200 hours.

"After the first one-hour jump, everyone couldn't imagine that they could last so long, and they had a special sense of pride and accomplishment." Huang Hao recalled that every time he jumped down, the clothes inside were soaked and sweaty, and he jumped in the bird's nest a few degrees below zero in the winter, and everyone took off their down jackets so hot.

"We jokingly called ourselves a 'burning snowflake' after training!" Huang Hao said.

From Lidong, who entered the bird's nest training on the first day, to Lichun at the opening of the Winter Olympics, Huang Hao completed scientific research work such as research on business trips and the opening of doctoral dissertations. In order to show the youthful vitality, enthusiasm, vigor and self-confidence of contemporary Chinese youth on the field, he and his teammates repeatedly practiced movements, memorized rhythms, and carefully polished expressions. From the neat and uniform movements at the beginning to the free, vivid and lively state in the back, the pacesetters welcomed visitors from all directions with rich body movements and enthusiastic smiles.

In the huge bird's nest, Huang Hao's position is in the distance between the left side of the athlete's entrance and the athlete's upper stand, and the athletes will not pass in front of them. In addition to the extraordinarily large panorama, he and many volunteers around him would not enter the live broadcast of the night, but they still beat with the fullest enthusiasm and the best state.

"From participating in the mass parade marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China in 2019 to attending the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China in Tiananmen Square in 2021, to standing on the stage of the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics to experience the glory of Beijing as a city of the Two Olympics, I felt an unparalleled romance and a kind of luck in the prosperous world." Huang Hao said that the successful opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics under the condition that the global epidemic has not yet dissipated, demonstrating the mainland's confidence in realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, further demonstrating the mainland's commitment to building a community with a shared future for mankind, and writing a vivid chapter of "going to the future together" with practical actions.
