For the first time, I spent the Spring Festival in a foreign country without holidays

The first time to spend the Spring Festival abroad (Zimbabwe), and with a mission to a foreign country, although the country allows our foreign aid medical team members to enjoy the 3-day Spring Festival holiday, but in the face of local patients who continue to come to see acupuncture treatment, they can't bear to refuse. Previously, due to the impact of the epidemic and the delay of flights, our 19th batch of Chinese medical teams in Zimbabwe has been late for more than 20 days, and because the Zimbabwe-China Chinese Medicine Center is being renovated, many patients have said that they have not received acupuncture treatment for more than a month. After communicating with the renovation party (Chinese-funded enterprise), the old diagnosis and treatment area of the Chinese medicine center was cleaned, killed and sorted out, and finally some clinics were opened before the Spring Festival.

Although it is just an ordinary consultation room, although the next door is still renovated, and there is a knocking sound from time to time, but the local patients do not have any complaints, and they are very happy to receive acupuncture treatment. After receiving the treatment, one by one, they all praised the miraculous efficacy of TCM acupuncture, and the satisfied smiles on their faces already explained everything...

Zimbabwe's medical conditions are much worse than in China, not only is there a shortage of medical treatment, but the testing equipment cannot keep up with the country. Local people are very inconvenient to seek medical treatment, many examinations can not be done, a test result often has to wait for a week, for some chronic diseases and complications often lack of corresponding treatment drugs. Patients who come to the clinic have neck, shoulder, waist and leg pain, hypertension, and diabetes, and some of them often only have basic drug treatment. I met several patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, who only took basic hypoglycemic drugs and did not take neurotrophic drugs; a patient with hypertensive heart disease, shortness of breath, edema of both lower limbs, and only took antihypertensive drugs; several patients with neck and back pain, who could only endure pain for a long time.

After the treatment, I looked at the patient's face with a bright smile and felt worth it from the heart. As long as you can help the local people, as long as you can let the local people enjoy the miraculous effect of Chinese medicine and acupuncture, as long as you can make the local people feel the great love of our motherland, even if the Spring Festival does not take a vacation, even if you are tired, it feels very meaningful, this year and the team members spent a full Spring Festival in a foreign country!
