Nowadays, a technology that can access the Internet without a Wi-Fi signal and light an LED light has arrived, and this technology called "Li-Fi (Light Fidelity)" uses the principle of optical transmission of data.

It is understood that the concept of Li-Fi originates from the process of LED lamp brightness research. Unlike ordinary lighting, LED light sources composed of semiconductor components can flash light at high speeds that cannot be seen by the human eye, and are accidentally found to be able to be used in communication technology.

Li-Fi utilizes the flickering of LED bulbs to transmit data. All numbers and data are sent and received through binary numbers consisting of 0 and 1, such as on for 1 and off for 0, and information can be transmitted by a fast switch.

Li-Fi, which uses light wave frequencies, has a wider frequency range than existing wireless communication technologies that use limited frequencies, so Li-Fi has the potential to communicate within a wide frequency band.

However, due to the nature of light that cannot pass through obstacles such as walls, LEDs must be placed in various places to use Li-Fi, and the lights must be turned on even during the day. To overcome this limitation, research into the commercialization of Li-Fi is still ongoing.
