"Little Zhuge Ge" Cai Bin regained control of the Chinese women's volleyball team shuai seal in 21 years four times to choose to face the difficulties

On February 3, Beijing time, the Volleyball Sports Management Center of the State General Administration of Sport announced that Cai Bin would be appointed as the head coach of the new Chinese women's volleyball team. From participating in the chinese women's volleyball team for the first time at the age of 35, to the first time he took charge of the women's volleyball national team at the age of 43, to resolutely taking over the national women's volleyball team for the second time at the age of 56, Cai Bin's persistence in the past 21 years is admirable.

The outstanding second setter of the men's volleyball team is born with a flexible mind and won the "Little Zhuge Ge" elegant title

The 56-year-old Cai Bin was once the main second pass of the Shanghai men's volleyball team. Although his height of 1 meter 80 is not outstanding, he has a flexible mind and a solid technical foundation, and entered the national team in 1989. In the mid-1990s, Cai Bin was also selected for the Chinese men's volleyball team coached by Wang Jiawei, competing with Zhou Jian'an and Wang Hebing.

After retiring in 1996, Cai Bin quickly became a coach. After the 1997 Eighth Games, at the age of 31, he succeeded the veteran coach Zhang Chenji as the head coach of the Shanghai women's volleyball team. At that time, the Shanghai team won the championship in the 1996 League and the 1997 Eight Games, and had outstanding players such as Wang Yi, Zhu Yunying, Zhang Jing, and Li Yizhi.

Although Cai Bin, who is coaching the women's team for the first time, is not qualified, he is willing to study, has distinctive characteristics in the formulation of technical and tactical playing styles, and uses the two tall side attackers of the Shanghai team, Zhang Jing and Liu Zhenjia, properly. He led the Shanghai women's volleyball team to continue to write brilliantly, winning four more championships in the league and becoming the first team to achieve "five consecutive championships" in the women's volleyball league. Cai Bin, who has a flexible mind and a strong business level, has also won the elegant title of "Little Zhuge Ge".

Ten years of coaching the national youth to cultivate reserve forces In the four world youth championships, they have won medals

Cai Bin has a high reputation among the domestic first-team coaches and is respected by many women's volleyball players. This is not only because he has served as the manager of many local teams in China, but also because he has been rooted in the national youth women's volleyball team for ten years and has devoted himself to cultivating reserve forces. Cai Bin had good results when he was in charge of the national youth women's volleyball team, and most of the team members he led later became the backbone of the Chinese women's volleyball team.

Cai Bin began coaching the National Youth Women's Volleyball Team as early as 1999. After leaving the Shanghai women's volleyball team, he served as the head coach of the national youth women's volleyball team full-time from 2001 to 2008. In the past ten years, dozens of rookies in the women's volleyball team have moved to a higher level after being trained by him. From Liu Yanan, Zhang Na and Song Nina of the "Golden Generation", to Wang Yimei and Yang Junjing of the "Bronze Generation", to Wei Qiuyue and Hui Ruoqi on the podium of the Rio Olympics, they were all disciples of Cai Bin when they were in the national youth team.

Cai Bin led the National Youth Women's Volleyball Team to compete in the World Youth Championship four times and successfully ranked in the top three, winning the second place in 2001 and 2005, and the third place in 2003 and 2007. Cai Bin was also frustrated when coaching the National Youth League, and the Chinese team lost 2-3 to Japan and Chinese Taipei in the 2008 Asian Youth Championships and won only bronze medals.

For the first time, the Chinese women's volleyball team defeated the Asian Championships and the "Meichu Innovation" was criticized

In Cai Bin's coaching career, he is obsessed with the playing style of "strong reception" and "two sides pulling apart and adding pressure in the middle". In 2009, he replaced Chen Zhonghe as the head coach of the Chinese women's volleyball team. After taking office, the ambitious Cai Bin pushed forward the "Meichu Innovation", intending to build Wang Yimei into a strong receiver and change Chu Jinling into the main attacker. At that time, although his idea was good, the technical strength and expertise of Chu and Wang could not be fully utilized in the new position, and they did not receive the expected effect.

Cai Bin was hit hard for the first time in charge of the Chinese women's volleyball team. Following the failure of "Mechu Innovation", he led the team to lose to Thailand in the final of the 2009 Asian Championship, losing the Asian championship. The defeat caused an uproar at the time and became the direct trigger for his dismissal. The Chinese team failed to win the wild card of the Grand Champions Cup after losing the title at the Asian Championship, and Cai Bin failed to win the opportunity to justify himself for the first time coaching the national team.

On March 25, 2010, the Volleyball Management Center held a press briefing to announce that Cai Bin had submitted his resignation on February 18 and replaced him with Tianjin women's volleyball coach Wang Baoquan. Cai Bin left less than a year after his first coaching of the Chinese women's volleyball team.

Lead the Beijing-Suzhou women's volleyball team to create good results after 12 years to regain the control of the Chinese women's volleyball team

After the setback of coaching the Chinese women's volleyball team for the first time, Cai Bin was not depressed, and soon returned to the front line to coach, successively leading Beijing and Jiangsu to set good results and re-promoting the prestige of "Little Zhuge Ge". In 2010, he took over the Beijing women's volleyball team, led the team back to the top league and reached the top four in the 2012-2013 season; since 2014, he has served as the manager of the Jiangsu women's volleyball team, leading the team to win two consecutive league and national games championships in 2017, taking off the "uncrowned king" hat in one fell swoop.

Cai Bin is the most involved in the selection of the women's volleyball team among domestic coaches, and his love for the Chinese women's volleyball team can be seen here. In 2001, Cai Bin won the most votes in the selection of coaches but his qualifications were still shallow and failed to achieve his wishes; in 2009, he succeeded Chen Zhonghe as the head coach, but he had no choice but to leave the class due to the defeat of the Asian Championships; in 2013, knowing that Lang Ping's return was the biggest favorite, he did not mind the third competition of "accompanying the run"; this year, when the women's volleyball team was in trouble and few people were willing to take over, he resolutely took on the heavy burden.

Although Cai Bin regained control of the Chinese women's volleyball team after 12 years, although it is not expected, at a time when the team is at a relatively low point and the domestic first-line coaching talent is limited, he is undoubtedly a more suitable candidate for the women's volleyball team. At present, the Chinese women's volleyball team is in a more delicate period, Cai Bin does not care about personal gains and losses and has the courage to take over, and his courage and responsibility are respectful.
