Wang Wubin is the chairman of China Three Gorges Energy, after graduating from Tsinghua University, he has participated in the construction of the Three Gorges Project and the "Water Cube" of the National Aquatics Center of the Beijing Olympic Games, and won the first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. When he mentions the Olympics, his heart can't help but gush out a sense of intimacy and warmth – this is due to the 2008 Beijing Olympics 14 years ago.

At that time, as the deputy manager of the project management department of "Water Cube", Wang Wubin participated in the construction of the Beijing Olympic Venues, was the organizer of the whole process of the project, and created a high-quality Olympic venue that can be called art. The Olympic legacy has now been gorgeously transformed into the "Ice Cube" and has hardly been changed, only some functional areas.

"The venue is still beautiful and crystal clear." Wang Wubin said that in fact, when the "Water Cube" design plan was first displayed, many ordinary people said that the venue looked like an ice cube, "Now that the Winter Olympics are held, can it not become an ice cube?" ”

Not only that, for Wang Wubin personally, participating in the construction of the Olympic venue "Water Cube" has another special significance, after participating in the construction of the "Water Cube", he began to shift from the field of large hydropower to the field of new energy, and has been working so far. "We participate in the Winter Olympics as a supplier of green power, and I participate in the way of a torchbearer, which is a life experience that can be said to be unattainable." Wang Wubin said excitedly.

Today, with the energy transition, the green concept of the Beijing Winter Olympics is forming a new demonstration and leadership. In his view, in this process, the use of world events such as the Winter Olympics to implement the concept of low-carbon green is the best way to spread.

As a torchbearer and a sports enthusiast with more than a decade of marathon experience, Wang Wubin hopes that during the Beijing Winter Olympics, ice and snow athletes around the world can create more world records in first-class venues, and Chinese athletes can also create more good results.
