On February 2, the Yunnan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection reported that three party members and public officials were suspected of drunk driving, and all three were seized by the public security organs on suspicion of drunk driving a motor vehicle on the night of Chinese New Year's Eve (January 31).

Zhang Lei, deputy chief of the Technical Equipment Section of the Hekou County Organ Affairs Bureau in Honghe Prefecture, was seized by the public security organs at 22:00 on January 31, 2022 on suspicion of drunk driving of a motor vehicle.

Zhou Jiacheng, a member of the Communist Party of China and an employee of the Yongde County Branch of China Post Group Co., Ltd. in Yunnan Province, was seized by the public security organs at 10:40 on January 31, 2022 on suspicion of drunk driving a motor vehicle.

Zhang Yongmin, a member of the Communist Party of China and director of the Village Affairs Supervision Committee of Pulong Village in Tianxin Township, Wuding County, Chuxiong Prefecture, was seized by the public security organs at 20:40 on January 31, 2022 on suspicion of drunk driving a motor vehicle.

Since January 28, 2022, the Supervision Commission of the Yunnan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection has continuously reported and exposed the illegal use of official transportation and the suspected drunk driving and gambling problems of party members and public employees for 15 days. As of 14:00 on February 2, the Yunnan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision has issued six batches of circulars, and a total of 20 party members and public officials suspected of drunk driving have been exposed.

The 20 people included Han Jianying, member of the Standing Committee of the Guandu District CPC Committee and director of the Propaganda Department of the Kunming Municipal CPC Committee; Bi Xingliang, a member of the CPC and a worker and attendant of the Logistics Service Center of the People's Government of Dongchuan District of Kunming City; Li Xiaozhao, member of the CPC And li Xiaozhao, director of the Naden Community Supervision Committee of Menglang Town, Lancang County, Pu'er City; and Bao Jianping, deputy director of the Market Supervision and Administration Bureau of Cangyuan County, Lincang City, and deputy secretary of the branch.

Most of the 20 people were seized by the police between 8 p.m. and 12 p.m. on suspicion of drunk driving, but a few were also seized in the early hours of the morning or in the morning.
