There are also vice presidents of the Shanghai Chess Academy Liu Shizhen, world champion Fan Tingyu, chess player Ding Lie, amateur king Hu Yuqing, European champion Dai Junfu and other chess celebrities sent video congratulations.

How can such a Go club have the prestige of shaking the entire Shanghai Weiqi community? Who is its founder, Wang Jiajun?

No. 53 Duolun Road, Juyi, founded the Liu Jun Go Research Association

In 1999, at No. 53 Wenhua Street, Duolun Road, Hongkou, Wang Jiajun established a Go hall here, named "Wenyufang", which is where the story begins.

Wang Jiajun claimed to be from a semi-undergraduate class, and although he had some achievements in middle school, he gradually became disconnected from Go after working. Because of the coincidence of the book, when Wang Jiajun was working in Shanghai Haitong Company, he was entrusted by the unit leader to carry out a cultural project in Duolun Road Cultural Street, and he could only play Go, so he decided to open a chess hall. Thus was born.

Considering the commercial cost, the start of the factor cannot rely on Go enthusiasts alone. After pulling the sponsorship of Shanghai Mobile, Wang Jiajun found a good friend, the late Tianwang Liu Jun 7 Duan, who came to the museum to guide him, and since then Liu Jun has regularly come here to hold various Go activities. Gradually, Liu Jun felt that amateur chess players in Shanghai lacked a stable place to play chess and research, which was not conducive to the improvement of chess skills, so he had the idea of establishing a research association.

Liu Jun often carries out activities such as guiding chess and giving lectures in Wenfang, and the research society has actually taken shape, but it has not yet been named. On October 8, 2003, the Liu Jun Go Research Association was established in a low profile, and the first official event was held on November 29. As its influence grew, the society also attracted a number of low-level professional players. For example, Zheng Ce, who later won the Chinese checkers championship, is actually a professional go three-dan player; there are Zhu Yuanhao, Cao Xiaoyang and so on in the city team. At that time, almost 80% of the Industry 6 in Shanghai gathered in the seminar, and many gifted children were guided in it. Nie Weiping, Lin Haifeng and other generations of masters also came to Wenfang to give support.

From the list of members of the research institute, you can feel the strong lineup:

The confrontation match defeated The Green Star Academy trained Jiang Weijie and Fan Tingyu

The Liu Jun Go Research Association, the Okiwa Research Society led by Lee Chang-ho and Yoo Chang-hyuk in South Korea, and the Green Star Go Academy in Yashiro Kikuchi in Japan have all interacted with each other. On the occasion of Mr. Kikuchi's visit to China in 2000, the Society's masters engaged in a friendly confrontation with Green Star Go Academy, which won 10:6. Green Star Academy has visited many masters, such as Mitsushi Kato who won four consecutive games in the 8th Sino-Japanese Go Tournament, as well as famous professional chess players such as Suzuki Karen.

On the basis of the research society, Wen yufang has witnessed the growth of a group of outstanding chess children. There are even many children from other places who come to visit, including the later Shiguan Dang Yifei, who comes to Wenfang every summer vacation to receive guidance, where he also loses more and wins less.

Among the local chess players trained in Shanghai, the most accomplished are Jiang Weijie and Fan Tingyu. Wang Jiajun and Fan Tingyu were the most impressed, and their impressions were also more profound. Fan Tingyu has been playing chess at Wenfang since he was 4 and a half years old, almost zero foundation, and Wang Jiajun is one of his enlightenment teachers. Starting from the nine sons, there were probably hundreds of sets of hands before and after, until Fan Tingyu entered Liu Jun's training class at the age of 7, Wang Jiajun could not get off. In Wang Jiajun's memory, Fan Tingyu was a very tenacious child, no matter how strong the opponent, he had to overcome it one by one. Wen Yu Fang is as strong as a cloud, which is the best place for Xiao Fan Boss to "upgrade and fight monsters".

On March 16, 2004, Liu Jun suddenly fell ill at home and died young at the age of 29. The members cultivated by Liu Jun's Go Research Association have gradually grown and become a spark in the Shanghai chess community. The business philosophy of Liu Jun's Go Research Association has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, and the chess strength of each member is not weak, and those who continue to engage in the Go industry have also made great achievements at the local level. The most famous is naturally Hu Yuqing, who is a well-known heavenly king in the amateur chess world, and the Qingyi Go co-created with Liu Yi has a reputation in Shanghai and even the whole country. When he joined the seminar, Hu Yuqing was only 16 or 7 years old.

Whether it is Wang Jiajun's Jingyi Go, Hu Yuqing's Qingyi Go, or many chess players and chess institutes that have been infected by the Wenfang, they still remember the group they first met, the Liu Jun Go Research Association.

It is difficult to reopen the old shop The middle-aged and elderly Go Association has an activity place

Because the business on Duolun Road was not very good, coupled with various reasons, the wenfang was suspended for a period of time. This time the old shop was newly opened, and Wang Jiajun had both an ideological struggle and a careful consideration in his heart.

The strongest motivation is the inseparable feelings in the heart. In Wang Jiajun's eyes, it was as if he had raised a child with his own hands, and he secretly thought in his heart that no matter when, he must reopen the pattern in his lifetime and let its life continue. After learning of Wang Jiajun's idea, many chess friends expressed encouragement and support, and the money field and the people field were all praised. Yike Go also provides unlimited computing power service support for the provision of Wenyufang. Everyone is enthusiastic and feels that Wenyufang is a Go brand for Shanghainese and should be well built. In the 4 days of the soft opening of the new store, more than 50 people have joined the membership, and I believe that the number of people who have joined the company this year will exceed 300.

At present, Wang Jiajun is the secretary general of the Shanghai Middle-aged and Elderly Go Association, and the activities of the association must always have a suitable station. In addition to feelings, the reopening of the Wenyufang is also to solve the actual venue needs of some Go public welfare activities.

As early as 1999, in a competition held in Lishui, Lu Yonghe, the head of the Shanghai Middle-aged and Elderly Go Association, mentioned to Wang Jiajun that he was physically ill and unable to do so, and entrusted Wang Jiajun to help take care of the affairs of the association. Wang Jiajun was still young at the time, and he felt that his qualifications were still shallow, and he had some concerns. Lu Yonghe said that there is no problem, you first try to do it, Wang Jiajun has the heart to help and will no longer shirk. Elder Lu is not only a respected elder, but also a friend who has nothing to talk about, and of course the things he confessed must be done well. Later, Lu Lao's health deteriorated and he died last year. Wang Jiajun also took over all the affairs of the middle-aged and elderly Go Association, determined to do this matter decently, in order to be worthy of the instructions of the elders.

Do public welfare first to solve the problem of costs, run competitions to enrich entertainment life

It is very difficult to operate a chess hall for adults, and it is more difficult to engage in public welfare Go activities, which is more of a "loss-making profit", and it is basically impossible to make a profit. It can not only be put in and out, but also can make an effect, and Wang Jiajun has made a lot of efforts for this.

The first Shanghai Middle-aged and Elderly Chess King Tournament

First, in 2021, the Shanghai Middle-aged and Elderly Chess King Tournament was tentatively held, and the results were widely praised, with chess fans rating 100 points out of 100 and Wang Jiajun himself scoring 90 points. In Shanghai and even the whole country, such competitions are rarely heard.

During the competition, Wang Jiajun released a questionnaire and found that the middle-aged and elderly people still have great demand for Go entertainment activities. He also reported to the leaders of the Sports Bureau and the Elderly Sports Association, and received unanimous support from his superiors. In addition, social forces based on communities and streets have also provided great help, such as in the Gubei community, the Gonghexin Road street community, and the Zhijiang West Road community, which have already held a number of Go activities.

At present, Wang Jiajun has planned three competitions, and all of them are being implemented. The first is to plan to hold a Yangpu Go New Year Cup at the beginning of the New Year, because the mass base in Yangpu is relatively wide. The second is to organize the Shanghai Amateur Top Ten against the "Qingyi" Children's Top Ten Ring Competition, the format refers to the Nongshim Cup, as well as the appearance fee, the winning streak award, etc., the ring cycle is specified longer, the publicity is a little bigger, I believe it can also get the support of some social forces.

The third is to host the Shanghai Middle-Aged and Elderly Go League, which is also being implemented. Each team designed to participate in the scale can have 4, 5 people, the format of the competition refers to the Chinese Weijia League, playing throughout the year; the annual prize money is also considerable, at least tens of thousands; the current plan is to form 12 teams first, this year is all the First Class teams, next year if conditions permit, then grade the Second Division; first mainly based on community registration, the basis of community-based use of home and away and tournament system, there are about 10 street communities registered. With community help, at least funding and venue issues can be solved. Including some highly motivated communities, you can come to the title sponsorship.

The overall Go atmosphere in Shanghai is now relatively good, and adult chess fans have the need to play chess entertainment. Wang Jiajun also hopes that by stringing up small hands with big hands, the little chess boy can improve in the Tattoo Workshop to see if he can still cultivate the next Fan Tingyu and Jiang Weijie. All in all, this is a public welfare undertaking, and Wang Jiajun wants to find an unusual way to run the wenfang well. It enriches everyone's entertainment life, and as a business operator, I also have a sense of pride.
