On February 1, 2022, Daimler AG officially changed its name to Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Following the successful listing of Daimler Trucks, the renaming of the Mercedes-Benz Group underscores the group's renewed focus on the automotive business.

With the renaming of the headquarters to Mercedes-Benz Group, Daimler Greater China Investment GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the group in China, will also be renamed. The matters are subject to approval by the relevant authorities and are scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2022.

The new Mercedes-Benz Group will focus on passenger car brands including Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Maybach and Mercedes-EQ, as well as light commercial vehicles.

In 1926, to lead the revolution in the automotive industry, Carl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler merged their respective companies, and the world-renowned Mercedes-Benz brand was born. As early as 1886, the two founders brought pioneering inventions to the world, opening the first year of the automobile era.
