Archaeologists around the world have always paid special attention to Peru, after all, too many "stories" have been found in this land in the past few thousand years.
In peru's Moche and Chicama valleys, archaeologists have found a large number of prehistoric ruins, such as the ruins of the city walls, house ruins and tomb groups, etc., so a large number of archaeologists go to the bottom of the two valleys every year to investigate and study. According to records, in January 1990, a joint expedition of several Peruvian universities went to the bottom of the Two Rivers Valley, and they found twelve ancient tombs during a three-month expedition, but only one of them was larger, so its excavation and cleaning work was also ranked last.
Of the eleven tombs that were first cleaned, experts unearthed only a small amount of pottery, but these pottery were exquisitely made, giving them confidence in the later excavations. It was not until June 1990 that archaeologists began to excavate the largest tomb, the preliminary survey was about 12.2 meters long, about 6.8 meters wide, about 3.6 meters deep, and during the excavation process, pottery also unearthed pottery, such as clay pots, clay bowls and pottery tables, but what surprised the experts most was that there were also some jade and gold ornaments, as well as more than twenty humanoid figurines of different shapes. From this, experts said that the owner of such a large tomb must not be an ordinary person, presumably the leader of a certain tribe at that time, or the aristocratic class, otherwise it would not have been possible to have such a variety of burial items.
In the course of further excavations, experts also found several strange clay figurines in the tomb, which were about 35 centimeters high, had a peaceful face, and were wearing dark brown coarse cloth. Crucially, the figurines hold a round thing in one hand that looks like a flapjack, while the other pair holds something like a microphone. These figurines vary in shape, and some of them also hold a "microphone" on their chests, as if they are ready to sing a song. Archaeologists have wondered, microphones are the product of modern technology, how could there be microphones in ancient societies?
After some time, experts studied the mystery of this large tomb, which turned out to be a tomb from the Moche civilization. Archaeological studies have shown that the Moche civilization originated on the north coast of Peru, named after its proximity to the Moche River, which has a history of more than 2,000 years. In 1899, the German archaeologist Mark Uller first discovered the Moche civilization, and through the excavation of some sites, it can be seen that the Moche civilization was also highly developed, and also built brilliant pyramids and temples. Unfortunately, no writing has been found in the remains of the Moche civilization, so the mystery of the Moche civilization is difficult to explain, but thankfully the Moche civilization site has a large number of pottery, and they are all exquisite, reflecting the superb pottery skills of the Moche civilization.
There are many painted pottery on the Moche civilization, and experts have studied many previously unearthed Moche civilization pottery and found an explanation for the "microphone" in a color painting. Experts say the paint depicts scenes of battles, and the objects in the paintings are exactly the same as the excavated clay figurines, and some of the postures are the same. Therefore, experts believe that the excavated clay figurines are actually soldier figurines, and the "microphone" they hold is actually a short stick for close combat, but the Moche people made one of its heads into a spherical shape to improve lethality, and similar stone short sticks have been unearthed in subsequent excavations. In addition, the soldiers held a shield in their other hand, but it is doubtful why their shield is so small?
After solving the mystery of the pottery figurines, experts also believe that these clay figurines are the true portrayal of the Moche warriors, who are tall and mighty, brave in battle, and let us have more knowledge and understanding of the mysterious Moche civilization.
