Viceroyalty of Peru (1542-1824)

The Viceroyalty of Peru (Spanish: Virreinato del Perú) is one of the four Spanish viceroyalties in the Americas. In 1533, Spain conquered Peru and established the Viceroyalty of Peru in 1542, with the capital of Lima, to rule Spanish and South America. In 1718, the Viceroyalty of New Granada, with its capital, Bogotá, was carved from the Viceroyalty of Peru, and in 1776, the Viceroyalty of La Plata, with its capital Buenos Aires, was carved out.

Northern Peru (1836-1839)

The State of Northern Peru (Estado Nor-Peruano), also known as the Republic of Northern Peru (República del Nor-Perú), is one of the three countries that make up the Peruvian-Bolivian Federation. It was born in the process of the division of the Republic of Peru into two countries, the other being the State of South Peru. Its capital is the city of Lima. It includes the territories bordering Colombia and Ecuador, as well as the former provinces of La Libertad (capital Trujillo), Amazonas, Lima and Junín.

The State of Southern Peru (Estado Sud-Peruano), also known as the Republic of Southern Peru (Republic of Southern Peru) (República del Sud-Perú), is one of the three constituent states of the Peruvian-Bolivian Federation, consisting of the provinces of Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cusco and Puno.

Peru-Bolivian Confederation (1836-1839)

The Confederation of Peru-Bolivia (Spanish: Confederación Perú-Boliviana[1]) is a confederation in South America that existed from 1836 to 1839 and consisted of three parts: North Peru, South Peru (which split from Peru due to the Peruvian Civil War of 1834 and the Saraveri-Santa Cruz War), and Bolivia. The capital is located in Tacna. Since its creation, the Confederacy has been perceived as a threat by its neighbors. The Confederacy was dissolved three years later.

Republic of Peru (1950-present)

The current coat of arms of Peru was inaugurated in 1950 as a coat of arms. In the upper left corner is a small alpaca, in the upper right corner is a cinchona tree, and below is the horn of abundance. There are holly oak crowns and four national flags on the top and sides, respectively. This emblem is also found on the Peruvian military flag.
