Observing other people doing well, rather than considering whether they've done anything wrong before, creates no psychological difficulty in trusting someone on the team.
For example, when someone breaks down their trust by not telling a customer something, look at how he makes up for it. Or, if someone is being praised for someone else's work, look at how he's helping other people's work right now.
