La Liga bottom team Levante officially announced that from Serie A side Cagliari signed 34-year-old Uruguayan defender Cáceres, Cáceres returned to La Liga after nearly 10 years, he has previously played for Barca and Sevilla, and after returning to La Liga, he will strive to help Levante complete the relegation task.
The Club levante officially announced the signing of Cáceres, the Uruguayan veteran who joined as a free agent and whose contract ended the season, at the end of which the Levante club also had a one-year extension of priority. Cáceres was also played by Ligue 1 relegation team Bordeaux, but he eventually chose the Spanish arena where he had worked.
Cáceres started his career in La Liga, moving from his parent team Defenders to Spain at the age of 20, playing for Villarreal, Huelva, Barca and Sevilla, with 86 La Liga games before moving to Serie A, playing for Juve, Verona, Lazio, Fiorentina and Cagliari. Cáceres moved from Sevilla to Juve in the summer of 2012 and is now back in La Liga after a gap of 10 years.
Cáceres has played 14 Serie A games for Cagliari this season, contributing 1 goal and 1 assist in 831 minutes of playing time, and cagliari is currently 18th in Serie A, one point behind the safe zone, while Levante is even worse, scoring just 11 points in 21 games and 10 points behind the safe zone.
