Jingdezhen is located in the northeast of Jiangxi Province, China, and is the porcelain capital of the world. For thousands of years, it has served successive emperors and is known as the essence of the East for its culmination of ceramic techniques. It is the birthplace of porcelain, and therefore the development path that has been derived has opened up a whole new world for Jingdezhen. From translucent white, meaning white porcelain, to colored green and blue glazes, from silk roads to kilns, porcelain is not just a product; it is an art form, a way of being. Here, it is a cultural destination hotel. Here, marble makes way for ceramics.
The hotel's modern brick building, designed by David Chipfield Studio, consists of three courtyard blocks connected by a spacious interior street. Kaymus Architecture's approach to interiors begins with "finishing the building": extending the brick façade of the exterior to the interior spaces, rendering the building complete rather than replacing the material.

Our second technique is to give each of the three volumes a different ceramic process. The lounge is glazed with green. The restaurant and spa are colored with cobalt with a blue glaze. The meeting and banquet halls show the lightness and transparency of white porcelain. Walking through the hotel is the process of passing through different craft porcelain. A series of marbles in a standard hotel are transformed here into a kaleidoscope of craftsmanship and craftsmanship.
Analysis graph
In the center of the street, an object inspired by a porcelain kiln stands, creating a unique black viewing platform, and the "fire kiln" itself is a work of art. The lamp under his feet seemed to call out the powerful heat from the kiln.
The room area is more subtle and down-to-earth. The place known as the studio is a place of retreat, seclusion and recuperation. Guests can relax and rejuvenate between unglazed, studio-like rustic textured benches and hangers. Clay tones dominate the space, and a special canvas wall texture creates opportunities for guests to meet and be alone with the material.
Overall, this hotel is a tribute to Jingdezhen's porcelain technology and experience. It is worth a visit today, as it was in the days of the Empire or the Netherlands of the merchants. Here, ceramics are commemorated in a way that has never been seen before, both as an expression of sincerity as a material and an exploration of its multiple functions and great power in interior design.
