With the theme of "Five Pots of Linmen and Blessings for the Winter Olympics", the licensed commodity of the Beijing Winter Olympics "Cloisonné and Tian Yu Curling" recently made a stunning appearance. This group of artworks with curling in the Winter Olympic games as the carrier was jointly created by two national intangible cultural heritage inheritance masters from Beijing and Hebei.

From material selection and jade to design patterns and hands-on carving, we have achieved meticulous carving and excellence. Generally, a jade carving product takes an average of several hours to complete, this time a jade carving product takes an average of 4 days to complete, and the carving method of each pot body is adapted to local conditions according to its own material. In order to reflect the unique charm of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, we designed the Xianglong, Ruifeng and Beijing Temple of Heaven patterns, using a highly compressed deep relief method to achieve the complementarity of yin and yang carvings, making this group of curling works show a subtle and restrained graceful atmosphere and elegant and feminine oriental charm, which is unforgettable. Ma Fuliang, a 63-year-old cloisonné filigree inlaid intangible cultural heritage artist in Dachang Hui Autonomous County, Langfang City, Hebei Province, said: "In order to show the unique curve of the pot lid with filigree inlay, I have made a lot of effort. The lid is made of sterling silver and decorated with auspicious patterns and traditional ethnic motifs with filigree inlay techniques, showing the elegance and grandeur of curling. The outermost edge of the lid uses xiang silk, which is made of a single silk thread, and a circle of filigree around the root of the handle of the lid, which is made of two threads intertwined with each other. In this way, the elegant curve of the lid handle is highlighted, adding a pearlescent and auspicious oriental temperament. ”

Ma Fuliang has been engaged in filigree inlay making for 46 years. More than a dozen works he has produced, such as lotus smoke, dragon and phoenix smoke, nine dragon smoke, horse galloping, lotus tea set and so on, have won national gold awards. "The holding of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics will not only provide a stage for global sports competitions to communicate, but also effectively spread Chinese culture."
