It is reported that "Quanzhou" was written, composed, and sung by Wu Xuanhui, and in addition, he also composed nanyin music with Chen Guimin, a nanyin practitioner. I studied many traditional Nanyin repertoire and found that there were fewer repertoire depicting Quanzhou culture and Quanzhou scenery, so I carried out a new creation, integrating Elements such as Quanzhou snacks and intangible cultural heritage points into it, retaining the rhythm of Nanyin, and then connecting popular music, which can allow more audiences to accept and understand the traditional Nanyin art of Quanzhou. ”
Wu Xuanhui introduced that he strives to combine the current popular electronic music and rap culture with the traditional Minnan opera culture, and integrates the tide play culture with the traditional culture of southern Fujian from multiple dimensions such as visual and auditory. Under such a concept, works such as "Carp Line" and "Quanzhou" also came into being.
It is worth mentioning that in the near future, Wu Xuanhui will also have a song "Husband Zhi" appear on CCTV fifteen sets, the work also added Minnan elements, there is a Minnan lyrics for "my own destiny, I go by myself, my fate is not predestined.".
Use music to speak outward to attract more people to know Quanzhou
The innovative integration of Minnan elements and popular music is exactly the direction that Wu Xuanhui has been striving for, and the original electronic Chinese style music MV "Carp Xing" that he participated in and sang as the lead singer won the love of netizens, especially young people, and his lead singing intangible cultural heritage music video "Zayton Quanzhou" won the only first prize of the second intangible cultural heritage short video competition in Fujian Province.
"My grandfather loves to listen to Nanyin, and as a native of Quanzhou, I grew up with a strong interest in local culture. Finding that many of my peers at present do not particularly understand the culture of southern Fujian, I hope to use my own strength to integrate innovative elements into the traditional repertoire of southern Fujian and let the local culture flourish. Wu Xuanhui said.
With this belief, Wu Xuanhui co-founded the LeJia Filming Team with friends, visiting various non-hereditary heirs and quanzhou people of the older generation, constantly enriching their insights and improving their creative ability. After several attempts, they found that the work should not only stop at copying and adapting the ancient traditional culture and art, but should give the ancient art a new concept. On the basis of respecting tradition, the team strives to keep pace with the times and conform to the trend of the times.
Wu Xuanhui introduced that in his heart, "Quanzhou" is an unfinished work, and he hopes to further innovate and improve this song with more music lovers in the future, and polish it into a more perfect work to spread the culture of southern Fujian.
