At the age of 10, Wang Xinyuan began to undergo rigorous training under the yamaha artist and professor Wang Yan of the piano department of the Sichuan Conservatory of Music; at the age of 12, he was admitted to the piano major of the Affiliated High School of the Sichuan Conservatory of Music with the first place; at the age of 16, he went to Poznan Padrevsky Conservatory of Music in Poland to study; four months later, he won the first prize in the Polish Young Talents Competition in Krakow, Poland; five months later, as the youngest player, he was successfully shortlisted for the 17th Leeds International Piano Competition in the United Kingdom and entered the second round of competition He also won the first prize in the Youth Category at the Little Chopin International Junior Piano Competition in Poland.
In 2014, Wang Xinyuan was admitted to the Franz Liszt Conservatory in Weimar, Germany, where he held many recital concerts in Germany and received wide acclaim; in 2018, he won the third place in the 19th Leeds International Piano Competition in the top competition in the piano industry, and won the Most Popular Award. There were only three major works in the concert, "the first half was Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 4 in E major" K282 and Schumann's Piano Sonata No. 1 in F minor op.11, and the second half was Schubert's String Quartet in D minor, "Death and the Maiden" D810, but unlike the traditional string quartet, I adapted it in piano form, so there will be a very different experience for fans familiar with this piece. ”
Mozart's naïve romance and Schumann's sensitivity, contradictions, complexity and changeability are obviously in stark contrast, what is the consideration of putting the two together? Wang Xinyuan explained with a smile that he hoped to present a contrasting musical effect, "Mozart is innocent like a child, the piano sonata is a classic Mozart expression, innocent, simple, when writing this piece he experienced a love, as if he could hear his childlike confession; and Schumann's sonata is also about love, but the expression is new, more complex and profound, heavy and heart-wrenching, from the cathartic beginning of the first movement to elicit inner impulses, To the second movement, where he and his lover Clara have a particularly pure aria-style dialogue through music, to the third movement, which returns to a very dynamic real world, the fourth movement is even more crazy, dripping, and climaxing, very dramatic, very grand, full of Schumann madness. An interesting contrast with Mozart. ”
Adapted from the piano, "Death and the Maiden" has a grand volume and runs through the entire second half. Wang Xinyuan said that this is his tribute to the classical master Schubert, and it is also a true expression of his complicated feelings since the epidemic.
"This adaptation I made is brand new. As we all know, Schubert's string quartet "Piano and the Maiden" is a very important work in the history of European music, derived from his own opera "Death and the Maiden", the original work dramatically shows the relationship between the two, the god of death constantly tempts the girl to come to the side, tells the girl not to be afraid, will not hurt you, the girl is a variety of resistance, and finally a happy ending. The psychological changes reflected in the music actually reflect the mentality of the musicians when they are creating, and they are also in line with my own mood. ”

Wang Xinyuan said that Schubert injected a very strong emotion when creating "Death and the Girl", "He was diagnosed with syphilis at that time, his career did not improve, and his heart was very painful, and my adaptation was also derived from last year's epidemic, feeling people's vision of a better life under the epidemic." Wang Xinyuan hopes to use a piano to try to express the original effect of the string quartet, "Originally it was also two instruments, strings and piano are different, this reduction can only be said to be the best effort, it is impossible to restore 100%, of which it is estimated that at least thirty or forty percent of the changes, because of my own inner waves, I make it more dramatic, added some tones, at the same time, the unique effect of strings may be performed on the piano will be just the opposite, such as strings are more subtle, euphemistic, the piano is more neutral, There is an innate advantage in expressing long sentences, which will be more profound.
