Jiwei network news, according to Juheng network reported, by Renault, Nissan, Mitsubishi automobile alliance on Thursday (28th) announced that in order to develop electric vehicles, the next 5 years will invest 23 billion euros to make related investments, and plans to use 5 common chassis to launch 35 new electric vehicles before 2030.

It is reported that the three auto companies hope to reduce costs by using the same parts to enhance product competitiveness. In order to improve the driving range of electric vehicles, the three car companies also plan to make all-solid-state batteries practical by fiscal 2028. And it is hoped that through the unification of battery specifications, the price of electric vehicles will be reduced to the level of fuel vehicles.

Nissan President Makoto Uchida said at a press conference the day before that 80% of all vehicles of the first three companies will use common chassis in 2026.

Nissan previously announced in November 2021 that it will invest 2 trillion yen in research and development, including electric vehicles, and aims to launch 15 new electric vehicles by FY2030.

It is worth noting that Japanese automakers have recently changed their cautious attitude and turned positive in the development of electric vehicles, and have successively announced investment strategies. Toyota, for example, announced that it will invest 4 trillion yen to develop electric vehicles by 2030, aiming to sell 3.5 million electric vehicles worldwide. Honda also plans that by 2040, new car sales will only sell electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles (FCVs).
