Winter Olympic Information | china's largest Winter Olympic landscape sculpture unveiled

Two 6-meter-tall "ice hockey players" played a "confrontation" on the south side of the Wukesong Ice Hockey Hall in Haidian District – this is currently the largest single-volume Winter Olympic landscape sculpture landscape in China. This group of landscape sculptures is called "Struggle". Li Sheng, a designer at Beijing Garden Ancient Construction Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., said that the landscape design took nearly 1 year, and the production process alone took more than 3 months.

"Next to the hockey hall, we want to focus on the hard-working ice hockey players, reflecting the spirit of going to the future together and going to the Winter Olympics together." Li Sheng said that the choice of the form of expression of landscape art is because it maximizes the use of garden waste while enriching the urban landscape, and fully practices the concept of the Green Winter Olympics.

The sculpture looks rugged, but in fact, there is a "careful machine", such as the athlete's chest is deliberately used to use wood to build a bamboo knot, which means that the chest is full of bamboo.

In addition to the struggling "ice hockey players", the Haidian District Landscaping Bureau makes full use of garden waste when arranging the landscape of the Winter Olympics. For example, the colored coverings laid around the five pines in the main stadium, the surrounding areas of the First Olympic Stadium, and the third and fourth rings of the main liaison lines, the extension of Chang'an Avenue, Zhongguancun Avenue, and Zizhuyuan Road are processed from garden waste. In the white space of the grassland, a color block and ribbon are formed, with a total paving area of 13,700 square meters, and the winter Olympic element pattern is also placed at the node position, adding a bright color to Beijing in winter.
