[CNMO News] In the early morning of January 28, Apple officially released the iPadOS 15.4 and macOS Monterey 12.3 beta system, in this update, the "Universal Control" function that appeared on WWDC21 was officially launched, for users who often use multiple devices, the appearance of this feature will greatly improve their efficiency.

Universal Control
The Universal Control feature will allow users to control multiple Macs and iPads with a single mouse and keyboard. When we upgrade our Mac and iPad systems to the latest beta system, the first time we move the pointer to the edge of the screen to connect the Mac and iPad, we will see the icon of the device we want to connect.
It is understood that the latest beta system for Mac and iPad has supported universal control, and the system will enable this function by default. On Mac, the corresponding setting options can be found under "Display" > "Advanced", while on iPad, users can find the corresponding options in "AirPlay and Toggle" under "General".
Thanks to the Universal Control feature, users can use the same cursor and keyboard on multiple Macs or iPads that have logged into their iCloud account. If a user needs to control multiple desktop Mac devices (such as desktop workstations consisting of iMac and MacBook) for a long time using the Universal Control feature, they can be set up in System Preferences to support Universal Control continuously. If at least one of these devices is portable (such as an iPad, MacBook, etc.), it must be reconnected each time the device moves out of range or goes to sleep.
In addition, if you want to change the placement of your devices after connecting, you can also do it at any time in Display Preferences, which operates in much the same way as connecting an external monitor. This setting allows the pointer to move smoothly between different screens without sudden jumps across screens. At the same time, if you have set the trigger angle in the lower right corner of your Mac to "Launch Quick Notes" and do not want that part of the screen edge for universal control, you can also modify it in the settings.
