Ubisoft's multiplayer online game Super Hunter City will cease operations for only 20 months

Ubisoft recently announced that its multiplayer free-to-play online chicken game, Super Hunter City, will cease operations at the end of April, ending the game's 18-month life cycle.

Ubisoft's multiplayer online game Super Hunter City will cease operations for only 20 months

"Super Hunter City" officially landed on the PC and console platforms in August 2020. Compared to other chicken-eating games, Super Hunter City has done a lot of subtraction in the gameplay to simplify many mechanics and speed up the pace of the game, so that most of the time in a game is in a state of engagement, rather than boring hiding. However, due to the game's own problems, Ubisoft said it would make a major overhaul of the game a few months later.

However, although the official commitment was made, the development progress of "Super Hunting City" seems to have stalled quickly. The third season of the game ended in March last year, and there have been no other updates since the update to version 3.1 on April 1. Even the social media accounts of Super Hunter City itself stopped posting after the may of last year. From all indications, Ubisoft's suspension of the game does not seem to be unexpected.

In a post on its website, Ubisoft said:

"We had to make a difficult decision to officially shut down the Mega Hunter server and stop all development on April 28. We're always working to create a vertical, close-quarters combat, and fast-paced shooter experience, and we're grateful for the continued support of the player community. We will apply the lessons learned from this to future products. ”

Ubisoft said in the middle of last year that it would invest more resources in free-to-play massively multiplayer online games in the future, so Super Hunter City will definitely not be their last game of the same type.
