Italian defender Romagnoli's contract with Milan expires at the end of the season, and Milan are hoping to renew Romagnoli's contract with a pay cut. According to the Milan Sports newspaper, Romagnoli is unhappy with the new contract offer offer offered by AC Milan, so his future at the club is uncertain.

Currently, Romagnoli earns €5.5 million a year at Milan, but Milan are reluctant to offer that much more in their contract extensions. A few months ago, Romagnoli's agent Raiola revealed the possibility that both sides would renew their contracts, but The Milan Sports newspaper now reports that Romagnoli is unhappy with the offer for a renewal offer offered by the club.

It is reported that if Romagnoli does not renew his contract with Milan, he may have a free transfer to Juventus.

AC Milan have been looking for a defender or two in both recent transfer windows, with Lille centre-back Botmann being their main transfer target, but the French club has been reluctant to sell it in January.
