Since New Year's Day, the city has continued to have low temperature and rainy weather, which has seriously affected the growth of flowers. In order to promote the growth of tulips, recently, the Municipal Forestry and Park Bureau organized the Municipal Flower and Tree Research Institute to adopt a series of technical means such as lighting and heating to ensure that tulips bloom as scheduled during the Spring Festival.

Recently, the reporter saw in the flower production base of the Municipal Flower and Wood Research Institute that various varieties of tulip pots were placed in greenhouses. Walking into the greenhouse, a burst of heating struck, and a batch of electric "bath masters" were installed here, and there was also a charcoal fire to heat up the tulips to ensure that they grew faster.

"The city's forestry department first tried to plant tulips in 2000, and began to plant them on a large scale in 2010; since 2011, every year during the Spring Festival, the city has held a New Year tulip flower exhibition in Zizhou Park, and the blooming tulip flower sea has enchanted citizens and tourists." A staff member of the Municipal Flower and Wood Research Institute said that tulip bulbs are imported from the Netherlands, affected by the Epidemic in Europe, the bulbs are not handled locally, and the customs clearance of seed bulb imports has been delayed for a long time, coupled with the fact that this year is a year in which tulips grow in an abnormal climate, resulting in slower tulip growth. In view of this situation, the forestry department overcame difficulties, placed all tulips in greenhouses for planting, regulated the flowering period through the conditions conducive to heat preservation and temperature regulation in greenhouses, and increased water and fertilizer to tulips to ensure that the plants were robust and the buds were full. At present, many varieties of tulips have flower buds and are expected to bloom during the Spring Festival.
