The painter entered the painting as the king of the hundred beasts, the picture is extraordinary, and in the inscription, "There is no such thing in the Central Plains today, teach the real tiger to be the king of the king" in line with the historical background, and the author's patriotic heart is clearly visible. "Double Tiger" and "Tiger" are the subject matter that the painter is best at, and Lin Yutang once praised his "tiger" work: "Where there is a muscle and a ridge, a shoulder and a claw, all of them are full of energy, pure and realistic." ”

US Air Force Colonel Chennault led the US Air Force Volunteer Corps to aid China in combat, and Zhang Shanxiao jiaqi and painted "Flying Tiger Map" to present chennault. Chen soon renamed the volunteer team "Flying Tigers" and distributed many flags and badges according to the "Flying Tiger Map" to encourage the soldiers. Later, the "Flying Tigers" fought very bravely in China, and they hit the Japanese planes one after another, and the Japanese pilots were discouraged. Chennault cherished the original picture of "Flying Tiger" and regarded it as gongbi. The image is now in the collection of the National Museum of the United States.

Zhang Shanxiao has been studious since childhood, has a strong temperament, learned to paint from her grandmother in childhood, and has a little longer ranger and makes friends. In 1925, when he was in his career, because his grandfather Huaizhong died in Songjiang, he resigned all his positions and went to Shanghai to mourn, and consulted with his brother Daqian to abandon politics to specialize in calligraphy and painting, and made a living in pen and ink. Uncle Da Qianxian was active by nature, intelligent and wise, read and studied painting, looked at the scenic spots and never forgot, heard that the brother was determined not to be an official, and was extremely happy, so he discussed the name of the studio.

His uncle Shanxiao had always revered Liu Bang, who had started from the pavilion and later unified the world, and was particularly interested in the word "gale" in his "Song of the Great Wind"; and the first uncle Daqian had always admired the great painter Zhang Dafeng in the early Qing Dynasty, who was well-versed in poetry and song, and the landscape, characters, flowers and birds, portraits, and golden stones were all exquisite, and this insight also included the word "gale" in it (most of the images of Gaoshi painted by Uncle Daqian were from Zhang Dafeng). The two brothers coincided with this. It was at that time that his uncle Li Cheng, and his father Wen Xiu, who was also in Shanghai because of the death of his grandfather, unanimously agreed to adopt the three characters of "DafengTang" as the name of Brother Zhang's studio. At that time, Zhang's residence was No. 169 Ximen Road, French Concession, Shanghai.

Since then, regardless of his travels, most of the calligraphy and paintings created by his uncle have the inscription "Written in Dafengtang" or stamped with the seal of Dafengtang. As for when his uncle Zhang Daqian began to use the Dafeng Hall inscription, it is unknown, but according to the data, in the spring of 1925, he had a paragraph in the poem "Inscribed Landscape Map" with the title "Daqian Jushi Dafeng Hall." ”
