People's Daily Gobenhago, May 30 -- On the occasion of the arrival of the international children's community on June 1, the Chinese Cultural Center in Copenhagen and the Hans Christian Andersen Cultural and Art Development Committee of Denmark jointly held the opening ceremony of the Sino-Danish Children's Painting Exhibition in the cultural building of the center on the afternoon of May 28, local time.
The theme of this exhibition is: Children's Hearts Paint Love, Hand in Hand to Fight the Epidemic. The COVID-19 pandemic, which has lasted for more than a year, has had a wide impact on the lives and personal health of people in various countries, and has also broken the calm learning life, extracurricular entertainment and connections between children and young people. China has well controlled the epidemic, and most schools have hardly closed classes; Danish primary and secondary school students have also returned to school since last month. Online classes have become the primary way for schools around the world to impart knowledge. In the face of the sudden epidemic, young people from all over the world have shown great bravery and self-confidence, taking the "epidemic" as a big classroom in life to explore and understand, and actively cooperating with parents and schools to prevent the epidemic and learn from each other. They use their paintbrushes to cheer for all sectors of society to fight the epidemic, and use the love embodied in their works to express their blessings and yearning for great love and a better tomorrow. Through childishness, the moonlight-like purity, beauty and love reflected in the works of children's art make the world's political manipulations, virus throwing pots, malicious attacks and other bad acts that disrupt unity and fight against the epidemic look extremely ugly and self-contained.
Also participating in this exhibition are some of the outstanding works of the "Hans Christian Andersen (International) Art Award". The event was jointly organized by the Danish Hans Christian Andersen Cultural and Artistic Development Committee and the Hans Christian Andersen Museum, with the purpose of commemorating Andersen's achievements in culture and art, hoping that children and young people would use artistic creation to show their fairy tale dreams and beautiful yearning for the world. Many Chinese primary and secondary school students have enthusiastically signed up for this event.
Danish Andersen's fairy tales are well-known in China, making children fall in love with and read tirelessly, telling a story full of love and childlike heart, showing love, fearlessness and courage in sincere emotions. This spirit is exactly what the people of the world today need to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
Zhang Li, director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Copenhagen, said at the opening ceremony of the exhibition that children's hearts can be learned, and Chinese and Danish children have cheered for the global fight against the epidemic through their own art works, spoken out for great love, and expressed their sincere wishes for a better future. Mankind has a common destiny, and cooperation can fight the epidemic. The earth is the common home of all mankind, and all countries should work together to develop and build a better future.
Mr. Finn Anderson, Chairman of the Hans Christian Andersen Committee for the Development of Culture and the Arts and former Director-General of the Danish Cultural Association, said in his speech that cultural exchanges are an important link between the hearts and minds of the chinese and Danish peoples, and children and young people are the future of the world. It is hoped that the young people of China and Denmark will share the same heart, enhance their confidence in defeating the epidemic, restore the normal order of study and life as soon as possible, and jointly contribute to Sino-Danish friendship and a better tomorrow for the world.
Klaus Tilling, president of the Danish Hans Christian Andersen Association, the famous musician Moten Lambike, and the famous writer Steig Dalago, who attended the opening ceremony, congratulated and praised the success of the exhibition, believing that similar cultural activities were needed before the end of the epidemic to soothe people's hearts and strengthen mutual care and communication among peoples. The high quality of activities of the Chinese Cultural Center is very attractive to the Danish people, which is very important for the healthy development of Sino-Danish relations and the friendship between the two peoples.
The Chinese Cultural Center will successively invite and arrange for Danish primary and secondary school students to visit the exhibition in batches and in time by appointment. (He Linda)
