Tesla released its financial statements for the fourth quarter of 2021 on Wednesday. The company's unaudited financial statements show that as of the end of December last year, holdings of digital assets were $1.26 billion, unchanged from the third quarter.

Tesla has not said how many bitcoins they hold, and Musk has hinted that it holds close to 42,000 bitcoins.

Tesla began accepting Bitcoin payments in March 2021. However, the company stopped cryptocurrency payments in May on the grounds of protecting the environment.

Musk then said that Tesla will resume bitcoin payments when bitcoin mining can use clean energy. When Bitcoin mining uses more than 50% of the clean energy, Tesla will resume Bitcoin payments. So far, Bitcoin payments have not been resumed.

At the same time, Musk is also known as the godfather of Dogecoin in the currency circle community, and some of Tesla's merchandise has accepted Dogecoin payment, and Musk has long been a supporter of dogs. He also recently tried to lure McDonald's into accepting Dogecoin and said that if McDonald's accepts Dogecoin payments, it will eat McDonald's live. But McDonald's replied: Only Tesla will accept Dogecoin if it accepts "Ghostface Coins".
