Why do I have an accident when I touch my neck?
In the middle of each of our necks, there is a place where the pulse of blood vessels is most obvious, which is the main channel for blood supply to the brain - the carotid artery.
The carotid artery is shallow in the neck position, and the carotid artery is easily touched with the fingers, and the artery can be clearly felt pulsating.

What happens when you hit your neck that is prone to accidents?
The position of the carotid artery in the neck is relatively shallow, and neck massage or minor trauma, such as excessive neck recline, rotation or rolling, a variety of sports activities, stretching and sudden movement of the neck, head shaking, severe vomiting or coughing, etc. may injure the blood vessels, causing a tear in the carotid artery lining, that is, "arterial dissection".
Arterial dissection can narrow or interrupt blood flow, and can also form a blood clot inside the blood vessel, leading to stroke.
Before the appearance of carotid sinus syndrome, the average person is not obviously uncomfortable, it may occur very suddenly; and everyone's sensitivity is different, not everyone has this "death hole".
There is currently no study on the exact degree of stress at which carotid sinus syndrome occurs. Moreover, the appearance of carotid sinus syndrome is more closely related to the site of compression and the time of compression.
When people kiss and are excited, it is easy to cause rapid heartbeat, and there may be heart rhythm disorders.

Most "carotid sinus syndrome" occurs in people whose carotid sinuses are sensitive to external stimuli, and these people make up 5 to 25 percent of the asymptomatic population, are more common in people with coronary heart disease and hypertension, and increase with age, with men 1 to 3 times more numerous than women [1].
Therefore, paying attention to regular physical examinations and timely understanding of physical conditions can reduce the incidence of accidents.
How do I rescue myself in the event of an accident?
