In 2016, under the leadership of a local guide, 11 donkey friends got lost while walking across the Yinyu River, and more than 30 people from the local Muyu Substation Special Service Brigade, The Fire Brigade, the Muyu Police Station, the Forest Public Security Bureau of the Protected Area, and the Forest Public Security Bureau of the Forestry Management Bureau began to search and rescue in two teams.
In 2018, two donkey friends were trapped in the deep mountains of Shennongjia Scenic Area, the local fire officers and soldiers joined forces with the police to carry out search and rescue, the search and rescue of the road is full of cliffs, a little careless will have the risk of falling off the cliff, although the rescue road is extremely difficult, but the search and rescue team still continues to advance, and finally two tourists were successfully rescued. It is explained that they wanted to climb the mountain on a whim, but they did not expect that the mountainous terrain here was so complicated that it led to the trapping.

In the 1950s, it is said that a 12-year-old cattle herding girl encountered a humanoid animal on her way home, and when everyone heard about it, they beat the animal to death and cut off their hands and feet to report to the government.
But according to experts, this is not a wildling, but a modern short-tailed monkey, which is so lacking in local knowledge of the animal that people mistakenly classify it as a wildling.
Although the cattle herding girl did not see the wild man, there were many legends about the wild man, some people reported seeing the footprints of the wild man, some people swore that they saw the wild man, and some people abandoned their families and walked in the mountains every day, just to find the existence of the wild man.
But now, scientists have confirmed that there are no wildlings. On the one hand, because scientists have done a systematic investigation of this place, they have not spared any corner of the existence of wild people, but they have not found any traces of wild people.
More importantly, ordinary people think that as long as there is a male and a female, then the wildlings can reproduce, but from a scientific point of view, only one male and one female will inevitably lead to inbreeding, so that the offspring will soon become extinct, so the wildlings want to live here for thousands of years, there must be a particularly large population.
The larger the population size, the greater the probability of human beings finding them, unfortunately they have not been found today, which means that they do not exist in a high probability.
Scientists believe that people may think of the wild animals that live here as wildlings, such as the golden snub-nosed monkey, although they live in trees, but when winter comes, they will go from the trees to the ground in order to migrate.
Because the ground is covered with snow and relatively cold, the golden snub-nosed monkey will walk upright for a while, which may also be the key to people mistaking it for a wild man.
