AMD Ryzen™ 9 6900HX "Zen 3+" APU Run Score Exposure

At this year's CES show, AMD released the Ryzen 6000H/U series of mobile chips. Recently positioned flagship-level AMD's Ryzen™ 9 6900HX APU running score exposed. Upgrading to Zen3+ cores, integrating RDNA2 GPUs, and using a 6nm process are its biggest highlights.

According to the exposure information: in the Geekbench 5 database appeared the results of a Lenovo 82RG laptop, which has an embedded AMD Ryzen™ 9 6900HX processor with 32GB of memory. The APU has a single-core score of 1593 points and a multi-core score of 10151 points.

For comparison, the previous-generation AMD Ryzen™ 9 5900HX averaged 1416 points per core and 7630 points for multiple cores. The Ryzen™ 9 6900HX is indeed 12% ahead of the 5900HX single-core performance and about 30% multi-core performance, which is believed to be related to the use of an optimized 6nm process and Zen3+ architecture.

However, when compared with the Alder-Lake i9-12900H, the Ryzen 9 6900HX seems to have encountered an opponent. It can be seen that the i9-12900H single-threaded performance is improved by 21%, and the multi-threaded performance is improved by 44%. However, this may be related to the maximum acceleration power consumption of the i9-12900H up to 115W.
