On January 25, on the third floor of the Sunhe Civic Activity Center in Chaoyang District, the "8K into the Community Launching Ceremony" was officially unveiled. The reporter learned that nearly 200 super-sized 8K TVs have entered 150 communities, 10 colleges and universities, sports venues, administrative sub-centers and other places in the city, allowing citizens to experience the excitement of the Winter Olympics at zero distance.
"Watching games on this big TV is too much fun!" Zhao Heping, who is in his sixties this year, said with a smile. The ultra-high-definition screen of sunhe civic center plays the 8K "Forbidden City" documentary, and through the screen, you can even clearly see the carved details of the golden lacquer carved dragon throne in the Forbidden City, as if you are in the palace, and the immersion brought by 8K makes everyone praise.
It is understood that the "8K into the community" activity provides two kinds of super-large 8K TVs of 75 inches and 110 inches, which can present a more realistic and natural ultra-high-definition display screen. 8K video has 4 times the number of pixels in 4K video, providing viewers with clearer picture quality, wider viewing angle, richer picture information, and more powerful color expression, creating an immersive viewing experience.
What ultra-high-definition content can the public see? It is reported that the country's first TV channel that provides 8K services to a wide audience, the Beijing Radio and Television Station's 8K Ultra-high-definition Test Channel for the Winter Olympics, was officially launched at the end of last year. Taking advantage of the broadcast of the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, the channel provides 24-hour continuous 8K HD programs in addition to real-time broadcast of event signals. Through this Winter Olympic documentary 8K channel, the audience can see the high-definition picture of the Winter Olympic games and truly feel the charm brought by ice and snow sports.
"Not only will I see it myself, but I will also mobilize my neighbors to watch the Winter Olympics and cheer for the athletes!" Zhao Heping said.
