One of the winners of the best actor, the Chinese artist Chang Feng, is 97 years old, but he still cherishes the details of "Homesickness". The best documentary, The Bridge of Time, was filmed over seven years. The producers say the film, co-produced by Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, has to overcome difficult problems with each step.
As Nuri Bige Ceylon, chairman of the Jury of the Golden Jubilee Award, said, "The result of the award stems from the judges' respect for the art of cinema", and the Golden Jubilee uses the award to interpret the artistic essence of "drama is bigger than the sky".
Salome Demelia won the Award for Best Actress for Between Breaths.
Last night, the 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival Golden Jubilee Award Ceremony was held at the Shanghai Grand Theatre. Filmmakers from China, Iran, India, Japan, Russia and other countries shared the top ten awards. The winning films were selected from 2,555 entries from around the world. Among them, the Iranian work "Castle of Dreams" became the biggest winner, not only won two blockbuster awards for best picture and best director, but also shared the best actor award with Chang Feng. Salome Demelia won the Award for Best Actress for Between Breaths.
Cinema has no borders, and there are no borders to the judgment of "what is a good movie"
In the past two years, the Golden Jubilee Awards Ceremony, the official micro-film produced by the Shanghai International Film Festival has always been one of the highlights. Last night, "The Birth of a Movie", "A Filmmaker's Dream • To the Movie", "The Future Has Come • Passing on the Torch" connected the scene. In the light film segment, the craftsmanship behind a movie flashes, telling the original intention of a group of filmmakers, and also pointing to new opportunities for the development of global films.
In answering "what is a good movie", the answers of Turkish director Ceylon, Mexican producer Nicolas Celis, Italian director Paolo Genovese, Indian director Rajkumal Hirani and Chinese actor Zhao Tao are very similar: movies have no borders, so do home and country feelings, and good movies can emotionally resonate with human beings.
The best film, Castle of Dreams, is similar to most Iranian films, taking a cross-section of life. The cowardly man in the film, who has failed to live up to the sustenance of his deceased wife, is deprived of the last benefits, hurts the young hearts of the children and squanders the most innocent trust. Not long, the director sculpts the details with great precision, so that the truth of life is revealed in a small space. The Indian film "Under the Moon" that won the Artistic Contribution Award also takes the family as the narrative object, and the emotions conveyed by the story can transcend time and space, and the flowing life scene is indispensable.
The award-winning film "Brotherhood" of the Best Screenplay Award focused the camera on the battlefield and opened a dusty history, and the complex situation of war and human nature intertwined made the audience sigh infinitely. The jury said: At an important historical turning point, the film provides a true and multi-dimensional portrayal of human destiny, creating a convincing and exquisite world for the audience.
The success of the film is always inseparable from sincere ingenuity, whether in front of or behind the scenes
Veteran artist Chang Feng was born in 1923, and at the age of 97, he appeared on crutches and won applause from the audience.
He was familiar to the audience for playing the role of "Cow Daddy" in the TV series "Chasing His Wife". This award made him the oldest "Best Actor" in the international A-category film festival. Qin Hailu, the director of "Homesickness", once revealed a story on the set: after a "big night scene" that lasted until two o'clock in the morning, Chang Feng, who returned to the station, did not rest immediately, but instead drank a pot. It turned out that since the old artist saw the script for the first time, he regarded this scene as the "drama eye" of the whole film, and it was a relief after filming that day. Qin Hailu sighed: "He is an old actor who has acted for more than 70 years, and he still cherishes every role and every detail so much. Host Cao Kefan relayed this remark: "In his eyes, the drama is bigger than the sky!" As soon as the words fell, the audience stood up to salute Chang Feng, and the applause lasted for a long time.
The performers in front of the stage polish the characters with details, while the workers behind the scenes use their ingenuity to sculpt each frame. The Chinese film "Spring Tide" is led by Jack Pollock from the exotic land. He told reporters in fluent Chinese that there was a scene where the shooting conditions were not ideal, the space was too narrow, "but the director felt that there was a taste of home there, so I was very supportive of her." In order to pursue the taste of home, no matter what technical obstacles there are in shooting, such as difficulty in lighting positions, etc., "it can be overcome for the quality of the film." In the end, Jin Jue commended this ingenuity with a bottle of "Best Cinematography Award".
Peking Opera performance artist Shang Changrong took the stage as a guest of honor, and he introduced himself as a "film newcomer recruit". After participating in the filming of many Peking Opera films in a row, he deeply agrees that the development of new technologies has brought more possibilities to culture. "I think the whole culture of opera art should try to innovate expression. To put it simply, traditional culture should also embrace the new era, so that it can have new vitality. "The passing on of the torch of art from beginning to end is not another artistic attitude."
Zhou Huilin, member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal CPC Committee and director of the Propaganda Department, Cai Wei, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, Zong Ming, vice mayor, and Fang Huiping, vice chairman of the Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended last night's award ceremony.
