There are many differences between the two sides, such as the union's previous proposal that players can be eligible for arbitration after the second year, a proposal that was directly rejected by the league in the early days, but as negotiations progress, this piece may change.
In addition to these, labor and management have something to talk about in terms of the competitive balance tax, the league minimum wage and the expansion of the playoffs, such as the union's desire to raise the minimum wage from about $500,000 to $775,000, the draft picks that mimic the NBA's lotto system , the lottery for the bottom eight teams , and the sharp increase in the luxury tax threshold to $245 million.
