Planting flowers into "rich flowers"
In the marigold base of Qinglong Village in Wenlong Town, more than 300 acres of marigolds bloom vigorously, as if they are in a golden ocean. Villagers weave back and forth through a sea of flowers, skillfully picking marigolds.
Marigold is a newly introduced industry in Wenlong Town in recent years, "mu output is about 3 tons, this year's mu output value is expected to be 3,000 yuan, the total output value is expected to reach more than 900,000 yuan." Yang Guangyan, the person in charge of the base, plans to expand the scale of planting next year and drive the surrounding masses to increase their income.
Marigolds in Ming Vulture Township, Mengzi City, Red River State, have also recently entered the picking season. Huang Yongshun, a flower farmer, said that he began to grow marigolds in 2018, and the marigold picking period was long, and he planted 30 mu of marigolds this year, and his income is expected to be about 90,000 yuan.

In Shizong County, Qujing City, the marigold planting area will reach 30,000 mu in 2021, and the agricultural output value is expected to reach 100 million yuan. In order to improve the degree of organization, scale and marketization of the marigold industry, the local leading enterprises have played a driving effect, strengthened various main bodies, and driven the common development of farmers. A local enterprise signed a marigold planting purchase and sale contract with various townships and streets, formulated management measures for marigold purchase, and clarified the method of flower purchase, which guaranteed the income of flower farmers and reduced market risks.

In addition to planting flowers to help farmers increase income, many places in Yunnan rely on excellent ecological environments and use flowers as the medium to develop rural tourism and help rural revitalization.

Research flowers and create a whole industry chain of flowers

Jinning flower planting industry has continued to develop in recent years, and in 2021, it was listed as a "one county, one industry" flower industry demonstration county by Yunnan Province. The Eighth Street Subdistrict of Anning City is the main production area of edible roses in Yunnan Province. In order to ensure the steady development of the edible rose industry, the local introduction of processing enterprises to solve the problem of processing and sales, and enhance the ability to use roses to resist market risks.
Since then, rose candy, rose filling, rose flower cake, rose jelly flower, rose dried flower, rose tea and other rose products have been continuously developed and produced, which have been recognized by consumers and promoted the development of the local rose industry.
As a large marigold planting county, Shizong County introduced leading enterprises to build an annual output of 1,000 tons of lutein extract processing project in Fengxiang Light Industrial Park, Shizong County Industrial Park, which can produce 6,000 tons of marigold granules and 1,000 tons of lutein extract per year.
As one of the eight key industries in Yunnan Province to build a world-class "green food brand", in 2020, the flower planting area in the province will reach 1.9 million mu. It can be said that in Yunnan, the flower industry has become a powerful "booster" for rural revitalization.
Of course, in order for the "booster" to make sustained efforts, it is still necessary to solve the problems of insufficient depth of the flower industry, fewer leading enterprises, and insufficient development of the secondary and tertiary industries. In this regard, the "14th Five-Year Plan of Yunnan Province" and the Proposal of long-term goals for 2035 years put forward that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, in terms of building a world-class "green food brand", Yunnan should promote the development of advantageous industries such as flowers to the whole industrial chain.
