Tomorrow is Earth Day, and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., an online concert of unprecedented scale will be broadcast live. The concert, entitled "Warm the World with Music", was jointly initiated by Shanghai Opera House and Shanghai People's Radio Classic 947, and nearly 100 musicians from more than 10 countries around the world, such as the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Paris Orchestra, the Royal Opera, and the Australian Opera, participated in the relay.

This 12-hour live broadcast is a continuation of the global music relay "Cheering for China's Fight Against the Epidemic" launched by Xu Zhong, president of the Shanghai Opera House, two months ago. Xu Zhong said: "Under the haze of the global epidemic, we will unite in music, care for each other and support each other. ”

Cloud Ensemble "Greetings of Love"

This is a world music journey during the epidemic, starting from Australia in the southern hemisphere, passing through Japan, South Korea and other Asian neighbors, crossing the Silk Road, collecting European styles, and looking at the North American continent. In the 12-hour live broadcast, Classic 947 will have 4 groups of 8 hosts taking turns to relay, and Xu Zhong, as the initiator, will participate in the dialogue throughout the dialogue.

Daegu is the hardest hit area of the epidemic in South Korea. Julian Kovacev, music director of the Daegu Symphony Orchestra in South Korea and Conductor of Germany, was a classmate of Hsu Chung's students at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Conservatoires in Paris, France, and his recommended work was Shostakovich's Seventh Symphony "Leningrad". Kovachev said: "This work symbolizes the triumph of humanitarianism, beyond war, hatred, and the brilliance of humanity will eventually illuminate everything." ”

Italy is one of the most affected countries in Europe, and live broadcasting will leave a lot of space to this "opera homeland". Concert musicians of orchestras such as La Scala in Milan, Opera May in Florence, Teatro Palma and many well-known Italian singers will "shine" through the airwaves. A song called "Fly! Thoughts, riding on golden wings, will be sung together by the musicians of the favorite.

This year coincides with the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth, and world musicians will also pay tribute to "Le Sheng" with music. Will Hönberger, chief conductor of the Bonn Opera house from Beethoven's hometown, said Beethoven's work spans ages, regions and races and can be understood by all. They plan to come to China this year to perform Beethoven's complete nine symphonies and his only opera "Federio", hoping to meet Chinese friends as soon as possible.

In addition, this music relay also "netted" Wang Jian, He Hui, Qin Liwei, Ma Junyi, Ye Cong, An Tianxu and other Chinese musicians around the world, as well as Han Peng, Zhang Le and other backbones of the domestic music scene from the Shanghai Opera House.

It is worth mentioning that the German pianist Sebastian Konal and the French conductor and pianist Philippe Untremont, who participated in this online concert, both came to Shanghai in 2003 to participate in the public welfare performance against SARS.

At the end of the live broadcast, 63 musicians from the Shanghai Opera House Symphony Orchestra, the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra and the major orchestras around the world will play "Greetings of Love" in the clouds. This romantic serenade by British composer Edward Elgar combines sounds from around the globe to deliver healing energy.

Gather global musical forces in 10 days

After performing numerous concerts, this was the first time Xu Zhong initiated and participated in a webcast. Even he himself did not expect that the live broadcast from the initiation to the completion of the collection of all the performance videos, a total of less than 10 days.

Under the epidemic, the global performance industry has shut down, but music has never been absent. The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra was the first to launch the "Under the Epidemic, Music Doesn't Stop" online concert, becoming the first art institution in Australia to provide free online live concerts to people in home isolation. Opera Australia's musicians and singers are kept at home and don't forget to rehearse for the next performance.

Audiences will see many musicians playing at home on the livestream, more affinity than they do on stage. Moldovan soprano Natalia Tanas will sing "Divine Food" at home; Australian soprano Eleanor Lyon will sing "If Life Deceives You" to the accompaniment of Mr.; Chinese violinist Ning Feng picks up violin, viola and cello, "one person divides the octagon" to complete Mendelssohn's "String Octet"; Israeli soprano Olga Sundskaya sings Rachmaninoff's romantic song "Spring Tide" at home, saying that "spring is coming, and everything grows, There is an unstoppable force in it."

In addition to the live broadcast of chinese platforms such as classic 947, Archimedes and Bilibili, the essence of this online concert is also expected to be broadcast on overseas platforms such as the world's largest classical music online platform medici.tv, the official website of the Paris Philharmonic Hall, and the official website of the Australian Opera.
