Recently, UnreluggedPerformance, a tuning company from California, announced that it will cooperate with Königsegg to launch a series of carbon fiber aerodynamic modification kits for Tesla. The collaboration is called Koenigsegg Advanced Manufacturing (KAM).
The components will be manufactured using Königseg's carbon fiber production process, along with the production of its vehicles. The process is probably to pre-impregnate the proprietary braid with epoxy resin, then cut it into the corresponding geometry with high precision, and finally assemble it by craftsmen, all of which are of considerable high quality. Then pressurized and temperature optimized in the autoclave, extraction, precision trimming, sanding, precision bonding, done in UV clear coating, with a special cooperation sticker indicating a manufacturing partnership on top.
So what parts are available? First, a small number of carbon fiber spoilers are available for the entry-level Model 3, the extremely fast Model S, and the practical Model X.
"The development of car enthusiast culture depends on embracing the best craftsmanship and the best technology, constantly creating new excitement points for the cars we love," said Ben Schaffer, CEO of UnpluggedPerformance. ”
UnpluggedPerformance said the parts are only released for the first time at the moment, with more products to be released for the series in 2022. Although inventory is limited, they can ship the parts from their Hawthorne headquarters in California to anywhere in the world.
