On Thursday, local time, a British company that said it would produce Tom Cruise's upcoming film in space said it planned to install the first-ever space film studio and stadium on the International Space Station as early as 2024. The company, Space Entertainment Enterprise (S.E.E.), also announced that it is working with commercial space station builder Axiom Space.

The company behind the Atango space movie appeared and revealed the relevant plans

The latter has a partnership with NASA to build an experimental space station and connect it to isis. The space station is called Axiom Station, and Axiom hopes to launch its first module, Axiom Hub 1, to ISS by 2024. The company will then build the space station and eventually separate it from the space station in 2028, making it a free-flying vehicle.

While Axiom Station is connected to isis, S.E.E. plans to connect its own modules to the growing space station in December 2024. According to a press release announcing the news, the module, dubbed SEE-1, will be available to individuals who want to shoot or stream content in space — including movies, TV series, music or sporting events. Animated video and pictures of SEE-1 on the company's website show that the module is a giant white sphere, but does not show the interior design.

Although the module will belong to S.E.E., it is being built by Axiom Space. According to S.E.E.'s press release, it will be an inflatable module with a diameter of up to 6 meters. S.E.E. said it will allow third parties to use the studio for their own projects as well. No cost or estimated budget for the project was provided, and S.E.E. did not elaborate on how much it would charge others to use the studio.

Axiom CEO Michael Suffredini said in a statement: "Adding a dedicated entertainment venue to the commercial capabilities of the Axiom station in the form of SEE-1 will expand the station's usefulness as a platform for a global user base and highlight the range of opportunities offered by the new space economy." ”

With the latest announcement, S.E.E. also revealed himself to be the production company behind Tom Cruise's mysterious space movie. In 2020, NASA announced that it was working with the well-known actor and potentially sending him to ISS to shoot a project. The actor's space mount is reportedly SpaceX's Manned Dragon spacecraft, which has been used to transport NASA astronauts to and from ISS.

Later, NASA confirmed in a podcast show that Axiom would be involved in sending Tom Cruise into orbit. While building the space station, Axiom also signed contracts with NASA and SpaceX to purchase SpaceX's manned Dragon spacecraft, which in turn sent private individuals to ISS. Axiom's first private astronaut mission, Axiom-1, was aboard a manned Dragon spacecraft, scheduled to fly in March. However, Tom Cruise's flight has not yet been dated or confirmed. As for what Cruise plans to shoot in the universe, so far, only director Doug Liman is involved, and that the film will not be a Mission Impossible movie.

S.E.E. was co-founded by producers Elena and Dmitry Lesnevsky. Their firm has an impressive list of advisors that include former Viacom and HBO executives. The company said it is currently looking for investors for Tom Cruise's space program, which Deadline reported in 2020 will have a budget of at least $200 million.

However, given the cost of access to space, the budget could be higher. One seat on SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft alone is considered to cost around $55 million, plus NASA charges a premium for private astronauts to use space station facilities in orbit. S.E.E. said it plans to start a fundraising round soon.
