At about 16:00 on January 18, the Chengqiao Police Station of the Chongming Branch of the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau received an alarm from Mr. Song, a citizen, saying that a bird with a golden head, a bright red abdomen, and a long brown tail was found in the underground garage of the community. As he looked up, the bird, slightly larger than a pigeon, flapped its wings and burrowed under the car. Mr. Song suspected that such a beautiful bird might be a nationally protected animal, and was worried that the bird would be attacked by wildcats, so he immediately called the police for help.

The police rushed to the scene, and Mr. Song lay on the ground and saw the bird hiding under the car. The bird is suspected of being injured. After the police checked and compared online, it was initially determined that it was a national second-level protected animal red-bellied golden pheasant. Subsequently, in order to avoid hurting the animals, the police and Mr. Song spent a lot of effort to take this red-bellied golden pheasant out of the car, put it into a cardboard box, and brought it back to the police station.

After the identification of the forestry station staff, the animal is indeed a national second-class protected animal red-bellied golden pheasant (male), there are no obvious scars on the body, suspected of being frightened by mistakenly entering the underground garage. The police of the police station handed over the red-bellied golden pheasant to the forestry station for disposal.
