What is mechatronics
Mechatronics is a professional training of high-quality technical skills personnel who master the basic knowledge of machining technology, electrical and electronic technology, detection technology, hydraulic and pneumatics, electrical control technology, automatic production line technology and mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance, have the ability to operate, install, debug, maintain and repair mechatronic equipment, and engage in the installation and commissioning, maintenance and repair, production technology management, service and marketing of mechanical and electrical products auxiliary design and technical transformation of automatic production lines and other mechanical and electrical equipment.
Mainly focus on electronic technology, electronic control technology, automation technology, etc.
One of my students was the mechatronics major of Beijing Polytechnic, which was a major in tuning machines at that time, and I felt dissatisfied, but when it came to graduation, I did not expect that the demand for mechatronics was very large.
After graduation, he went to Siemens Software Division, specializing in robot manufacturing, and now earns a monthly salary of 4W, helping Siemens global manufacturing plants to upgrade automation and intelligent manufacturing.
So what are the employment advantages of mechatronics?
As shown in the figure below, the state issued the policy of "Made in China 2025" as early as 2015, which clearly proposed industrial upgrading, which is dominated by various types of industrial control, intelligent machinery, robots, etc., which also determines the bright employment prospects of mechatronics in the future.
The first category: traditional manufacturing plants.
Traditional manufacturing plants are also facing upgrades, and the entire manufacturing industry is doing industrial upgrading according to the 2025 policy, mainly replacing labor with a large number of robots.
Then, for traditional manufacturing plants, the equipment department and the manufacturing department undertake a large number of process transformation, equipment transformation work, mainly how to upgrade traditional equipment to robots.
Then the mechatronics major is an indispensable link, belonging to one of the core of the three major engineers of mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and structural engineers, so the employment prospects are very good.
The second category: professional robot companies.
As mentioned above, manufacturing enterprises need equipment transformation and upgrading, in addition to internal professionals, but also inseparable from external professional consulting agencies, then as I mentioned to my friends, there are also many professional robot companies specializing in serving manufacturing enterprises.
Then the company that enters this type of Party B can also have a very good development, similar to the four major accounting firms, which can grow quickly, gain knowledge and ability, and then jump to Party A.
The third category: e-commerce enterprises.
As we all know, many e-commerce logistics are already self-operated, similar to Jingdong, Cainiao, and the three links, these logistics e-commerce warehouses have a large number of automated warehousing equipment, such as three-dimensional warehouses, automated robots, handling trolleys, etc., which require internal professional engineers to customize themselves according to their needs.
This category is the employment category of mechatronics.
Therefore, with the policy support of national intelligent manufacturing and the development trend of automation and digitalization in the future, it can be seen that the prospects and scope of professional employment in mechatronics are very wide, and it is also a very good professional choice.
