A neighborhood in Cape Town, South Africa, is home to a luxury dog hotel. Puppies can choose "affordable room" in the hotel or stay in the "Presidential Suite". In stark contrast, opposite the hotel is a night shelter for many homeless people.

According to Agence France-Presse reported on the 20th, this dog hotel in Cape Town is decorated with Baroque style chandeliers, pasted with exquisite wallpaper, and dog portraits are hung on the walls. The most expensive room in the hotel costs R535 per day. The National Poverty Line set by the South African government is R890 per month.

To that end, the luxury hotel also offers a range of "relaxation therapies" for pet dogs, who can listen to soothing music while sipping cocktails made with Rooibos tea, South Africa's signature drink.

Some people have criticized that the gap between rich and poor in society is so large that many people care about their pet dogs far more than their compatriots. In response, the hotel owner argues that she has created jobs for society.
